Get an executive room, on a high floor and in the front. The AC wasn't doing anything for us, but with two windows we had a nice cross breeze. The card readers for the parking lots are pretty tricky (never did get the top lot to open up). Room was clean and bed was nice (and huge). Fun area, good food, but the guys at the desk seemed surprised that we were a straight couple -- maybe because we we there during the big pride parade/party. The area was nuts, soooo many people passing through the neighborhood.

We had a one bedroomed suite with 2 sofa beds in the large lounge for our 2 teenagers. We had struggled to find accommodation with a kitchen & 2 separate beds for our children. Our bed was very comfortable & I'm told theirs were too. We had plenty of space & everything was very handy ie places to eat, groceries, beach & sight seeing. The staff were very helpful & friendly & nothing was too much trouble.
We stayed a few nights before travelling elsewhere in BC & USA & came back for a few days before flying home. The laundry was v handy too.

We stayed here during late July in an executive large 1 bedroom suite. The accomodation was perfect for a family of 5 including 3 adult size teenagers. The location was great being within 10minutes walk from downtown, 20 minutes from Stanley Park and 3 minutes from Davie street, a lively shopping and restaurant area. The hotel also provides onsite parking which is a bonus in Vancouver and the location is actually very quiet except for the seagulls! The suite was equipped with a well maintained stove/oven, fridge with freezer and dining area. Only downside was no dishwasher. The suite was cleaned daily. The laundry area was adequate to keep us in clean clothes! One positive point was the soap was provided free of charge which is not often the case. The breakfast was a bit on the light side but the suite was well equipped and a short walk to the local supermarket supplemented the meal.
Lastly, the service was friendly and helpful. Dave, our concierge was a font of local knowledge and a great help. Thank you Dave!!

We stayed here prior to our trip on the Rocky Mountaineer. Our suite was at the rear of the hotel, facing downtown Vancouver, and on the 6th floor. The immediate view is of the backs of adjacent low rise property, but lift your eyes and you have a great view of Vancouver and its backdrop. The suite itself was very spacious, up to date TVs in lounge and bedroom, sofa, dining table and suitably equipped kitchen area. Entrance is in a pleasant street, and very easy access to shops and restaurants. We walked all over town from here - Stanley Park to Granville Island, and the centre itself.
Nice welcome from the staff, and a very well provided breakfast area, to take back up to your suite. Another reviewer had said it was noisy - it's in the middle of town for goodness sake. No more than the usual hum when we were there. And the police cars are quiet/unnecessary in Vancouver.

Room Tip: You could pay a bit more and get a view across to Granville, We were upgraded anyway.

Our good time at the Sunset Inn started at check-in, when fthe riendly deskman Dave responded to my question about getting a room with a good view by upgrading us to a one-bedroom from a studio, on a higher floor. Everything about the three-night stay worked just fine. The bedroom and bathroom were cozy but adequate and the wi-fi worked, as did everything in the kitchen. The only downside here: The continental breakfast was skimpy and inconvenient., Still this place is a good value in a great neighborhood, one block off the very lively, happening Davie Street, with lots of bars, restaurants and boutiques...
