My wife kidnapped me for a weekend in the city for my birthday, starting with reservations at our favorite downtown hotel the Met. "Happy Birthday Mr. Douglas" came from the check in staff followed by an upgrade surprise. If you can get a suite on the top floor, the 18th, they don't get much better than 1804, with two rooftop terraces. And, arriving back after a play at the Granville Island theatre, a chocolate, engraved platter of dessert and personal note. Wow! The usual outstanding service from curbside to bedside - there just isn't a better experience for your downtown Vancouver stay!

We stayed at the Metropolitan for our family vacation, it's location is fantastic, in the middle of shopping, restaurants, and all the sights. The front personnel was very friendly, and accommodating. The rooms were a bit used and old and in need of renovation. The pool was a nice refreshment for the kids, and he parking was very convenient.

Very nice hotel right downtown in Vancouver. Easy access to the Sky Train and Canada Line (City Center) right across the street at Pacific Center. Very nice mall.
Cactus Club, Starbucks, The Keg all within walking distance. Canada Place is just down the street. Nice pool, gym is kind of small but adequate. Great rooms and spacious bathrooms. Staff is always pleasant and courteous.

The hotel was well located in downtown Vancouver - close to shopping areas, the harbour and train and sky track stations. The rooms were a little disappointing - dated decor and surrounds with worn carpets and cupboards had a slight musty smell. The rooms were also a bit noisy early mornings but that is the price you pay for such a central location. Rooms were clean with good bed linens and toiletries just needs a bit of an update.

I stayed at this hotel for several nights. The rooms are great and the staff are wonderful. It is convenient for everything and a first class hotel. They have a staff member in the lobby to give advice on where to go and how to get there. I can't speak too highly of their friendly and helpful attitude.

We stayed here one night before boarding a cruise to Alaska.
The location is perfect - lots of restaurants and shopping nearby - and a short walk to the cruise docks.
The room was beautiful. A little on the smallish size, but that's expected downtown in a big city.
Room was very quiet - we didn't once hear a door slam or any other outside noise. No traffic noise either.
Bathroom was wonderful - huge with lots of counter space
Wifi worked flawlessly.
Checkin was quick and efficient.
Checkout was simply the "bill under the door".
The rate even seemed reasonable.
We didn't use the restaurant nor fitness facility.

My husband and I stayed here for two days after an Alaskan cruise. We were so worried about how early we were going to arrive due to our 9:00 debarking time and what were we going to do with ourselves until we reached check in time. We decided to take a chance and check in at 10:00. The lady at the desk was super nice. She looked in the system and said she had a room available. Didn't mention how early we were or anything about normal check in times. We were so grateful for this! Signing up for the free prefer program probably helped I'm sure. (so sign up... It's free! Got free cookies sent to the room too.) The room was a decent size. Bed was extremely comfortable, especially after spending 7 days on a ship. The bathroom had a separate tub and shower. I also loved the touch of the makeup mirror and stool you can sit on while applying make up--really convenient. We had a view of the city. A slight downside some may feel of this view are the office buildings that are so close you can literally see in their offices. No biggie though, close your blinds and it'll be fine. It was very quiet. We didn't hear other people or doors slamming. It was very relaxing like we were the only people on the floor. Convenient to Robson Street and a short walk to a sky train stop. Lots of food trucks on Howe street too, which we were thrilled about. If we're lucky enough to travel to Vancouver again, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
