“Birthday Stay”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

We had a one king junior suite for a one night stay this past weekend. The suite proved the perfect place to spend an evening celebrating a birthday with a few friends, the size of the suite was great for visiting with about 6 others. The hotel is beautiful, the staff and service were wonderful, and we felt they really went above and beyond in making this birthday stay special.

We generally stay at the Pan Pacific or Fairmont but this trip we chose to do something different and stay at the Metrpoltan. Location is excellent, rates are reasonable, rooms clean and comfortable.
We will definately return.
Leah in sales made our trip a memorable one by addressing many details we had not even thought of. She is clearly an expert in her field and I highly recommend her being your contact for packages etc.
David, the concierge, also went above and beyond expectations and took care of sll of our dinner reservations, event travel etc.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got a nice Hotwire price on this hotel for a weekend on Vancouver and it turned out to be a wonderful stay. Excellent location, close to transit, shopping and services. Staff was attentive and well trained and treated the guests extremely well. The room was well appointed and clean with a nice view from the balcony. Nice to be able to open a window for a change. Great value, great service, great staff makes a great hotel

I stayed at the Met November 11 to the 17th. Had a wonderful experience. The rooms are very clean with nice decor. The hotel staff is very kind and accommodating. The location is perfect, near tons of shopping and restaurants. What I liked the most about the hotel is the rooms came with balconies which was a great feature to have. Was refreshing to be able to go out on the balcony in the early morning and have coffee out there. The hotel had a boutique feel to it. I would definitely stay here again.

My family and I had an amazing stay at The Met. We were in a Junior Suite which connected to a Deluxe/Luxury King room. The rooms were clean and spacious. Everyone at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel may be small but we were treated like VIP guests :) It was my dad's birthday and a huge cookie and slice of delicious cake was waiting for us at our suite c/o Diva restaurant. The location of this hotel is amazing as it is in the heart of downtown. 5-7 minute walk to Robson, near convenient stores and sky train stations. Although parking is expensive they have packages which includes free parking which is very rare for hotels located in downtown Vancouver. I will most definitely be staying at this hotel again the next time I visit Vancouver.

Room Tip: Both the deluxe King Room and Junior Suite are amazing rooms :) I'm sure the other rooms are jus...

We stayed at the Met in November and was an excellent experience! To start the location is excellent - you are minutes away from a mall, all kinds of shops, restaurants, bars, whatever your looking for is near by! Excellent service is provided as soon as the front door is opened for you. The hotel is clean and rooms are nice. We took an upgrade to a Jr. suite and we were glad we did! A large seperate living room with a lot of storage, a wall that's mostly a glass window (ours faced the pool and gym of the Four Seasons) with a large full size mirror. Tinted sliding french doors seperate a large bed room that was equiped with plush white bedding, an ipod docker and 2 complimentary bottles of water were replenished each evening at turndown. The bathroom was very spaceous had a bathtub and seperate marble shower with a built in chair... I heard the onsite restaurant 'Diva at the Met' is excellent however we wanted to try the YEW restaurant at the Four Seasons. Gas Town is a short walk away as well as Robson and Granville Street. My boyfriend and I travel to Vancouver frequently and like to try new places each time but I will be hard to go elsewhere after staying at The Met!

For a tourist, the location of this hotel is perfect. It is positioned between two skytrain stations within easy walking distance. Their dining options are somewhat limited but the area is surrounded by reasonably priced restaurants as well as a number of pubs that serve relatively low cost pub fare. The hotel itself is reasonably well updated and includes the essentials such as free Internet and has an indoor spa and swimming pool. Of course none of this comes free and there is any dollar charge for the use of their facilities where do you use them or not. I object to this fee and feel it is just a way of increasing the room rate in a clandestine fashion. Parking a car is also rather expensive although probably in line with other hotels at $40 a night including taxes. Door and counter staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and reasonably quiet for a downtown location.

Room Tip: Rooms fronting on Howe street are likely noisier than the rest of the hotel. Higher up is obviously...
