We spent four nights here on a recent long weekend trip to explore Vancouver. It turned out to be a great choice as the location was pretty perfect for hitting the hotspots for a first-time tourist. Easy walks to Gastown, Chinatown, West End. Stanley Park is about a mile away but it's an easy walk too. There are many, many restaurants in the downtown area to choose from, though this is an expensive city to eat in.

Our (upgraded) room on the 30th floor had a large balcony with limited views of the harbor and mountains in the distance. Rooms have all be recently renovated and ours was spacious and comfortable. Modern touches include USB charging ports built into the work desk and a safe that is locked with your (chip enabled) room key rather than a combination. The bathroom was clean and had excellent lighting. The elevator system is efficient and fast under normal conditions but if the hotel is busy and full, they are a nightmare. We experienced both conditions during our stay. Fortunately staff were aware of the problem and stood by to take passengers up on the service elevators when the waits became too long.

I did not eat in the restaurant here, but stopped by the open-air bar on second floor. The drinks were good with a focus on local flavors; daily drink and food specials are available.

All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. This is not a super luxury hotel by any means, but a solid choice where you can expect standard Hyatt service and features.

The Hyatt Regency in Vancouver met my expectations in every way. It has a very central location, in easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping, the financial area and the waterfront. I got a decent rate on-line (for Vancouver) and felt that it was excellent value. My room was spacious, well appointed, very clean and comfortable. I had an adjoining room and sometimes could conversation from the other room, but that the only room-related issue I had. I had several meals in the bar on the 2nd floor and enjoyed the atmosphere and view (a nice hotel bar when you can feel comfortable reading and having a light meal is important when traveling on your own). The vast majority of staff (with only one exception) were quite friendly and helpful

I was disappointed with the high daily charge for internet use and the fact that you even had to pay to use the computer in the business lounge. I found the pool and deck a bit small and easily overrun by just one family with kids. I didn't use the fitness centre, but it looked very nice.

Overall, I was very happy with my stay and would definitely stay here again.

First time in Vancouver, BC traveling w/children, teens, elderly adults we're so glad we stayed at Hyatt which located in downtown (we have partial ocean view Nice on 7th floor). 3 blocks from Robson Street-major shopping street. We enjoyed Tampopo Garden All you can eat Sushi on Denman St. (15 blocks walk, worth the $$ and walk). Sura Korean Rest on Robson St about 6 blocks away (very good food and excellent services). Hotel Room was beautifully decorated w/comfortable beds. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Internet is super fast. We like the self-parking option $37.50/day because we go in and out a lots :). They have FREE shuttles to Stanley Parks, and other sight-seeing places which was very nice. Gym and pool is nice too! Definitely will come back to this hotel. Hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.

We recently spent 6 nights at the Hyatt Vancouver, Canada. We were in the Regency club level. On checking into our room, we found a dirty used hand towel hanging on the shower rail!!! Other than this unfortunate incident, the rest of our stay was excellent----the staff at the Regency club --especially Jennifer was not excellent---they were OUTSTANDING!! Jennifer helped us plan our day with both recommendations as well as addresses etc. It was a treat to be greeted by her smiles every day!!
The parking facilities were great---easy access to the hotel. Location of hotel is excellent---within walking distance to everything. Will definitely stay at this hotel again when we visit Vancouver

Stayed at the Hyatt this past weekend and was very happy with our room. It was spacious and very comfortable. The rooms have been updated compared to other downtown hotels. The location was great as well. No concerns here. I definitely recommend the Hyatt.

Was on business trip and stayed here for 3 days. Room on 32 floor. Overall this is a typical standard room you get in most chain hotels. Location of the hotel is great in downtown. I guess I was let down by how boring it was.

I loved: bathroom.nice contemporary look.....bed. was big & comfy.....view from room was great.

service: efficient. very friendly.

average: tub. not for a big man....toiletries. no shower cap given. Had to ask for it.

blah: got bored stuck in the room. not much space to move about.

cons: no complimentary water bottles......too many light switches in the room.had to individually switch off each.....security is a joke.access to everyone to all floors.only need to punch in room number on the console.....in room safe. again this can be locked and opened with a room access card.isn't the whole point of a safe is to have numbered access only to you.this system can allow anyone to open the safe as long as they have your room access card......the lobby is crazy.its filled with people all the time since there is a starbucks there and access to a bar and a shopping center.found it very crowded.

around the hotel: great location. stores, restaurants, waterfront all nearby

My wife and I went to Vancouver for a weekend in summer and stayed here. It's a great city and this hotel is right in the heart of the downtown Vancouver. Very convenient, either you drive or take subway (right on the station). The staffs are kind and generous; the room is clean and well-maintained. Everything and everhhing, it's great and you have to pay for them. For example, valet parking staffs are very professional and get your car in & out quick; and you will be paying $45/day for that.
The only downsize during the stay was that we had to wait for long time for the elevator, no matter it's the morning, afternoon, or evening. Maybe it's because there were multiple conference on site that weekend? We easily found ourselves waiting for 10 or even 15 mins for the ride...
