The hotel was nice, clean, comfortable and located right downtown Vancouver (within walking distance to everything.) However, the price of parking was outrageous – you could go enjoy a lovely meal for the price you pay to park there.

Pros; their chocolate cake!!

Cons; price of parking and communication with front desk staff.

Very modern hotel, excellent rooms and comfortable beds. The staff were great and went out of their way to help with anything we wanted. Located in downtown Vancouver, right next to the skytrain station.

The Mosaic Bar & Grill on Level 2 is great. We had drinks and dinner there and were really impressed.

I travel to Vancouver about 4 times a year for business. I recently stayed at the Hyatt and was very happy. The location is excellent, its walking distance from all the major office buildings. The room was very clean. The bed was excellent, i had a very nice comfortable sleep. The working desk was big and the chair was very comfortable. I Would stay here again and i would pick this hotel amongst other. The outdoor pool and jaccuzi was nice, i used them both and they were heated. The gym had everything you need.

This was my second time at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver right in the heart of downtown. Although I was only here for one night, it was a great experience. The hotel has been through some renovations since I was last there in 2010 (?), including some new elevator systems that apparently help reduce wait times by grouping people into elevators going to the same area. Other renovations include an updated gym and food/bar space. The hotel is ideally situated for most business in the downtown and is within close distance to most shopping distances. The only drawback is the distance to the Canada Line of the SkyTrain system (@ 2-3 blocks) if you are carrying a bag.

Check-in was quick and painless and my room was ready at 2:30 PM, so it started off well. My room on the 15th floor was spacious and well-appointed. One issue I have with the room is the single-control light switch by the door that turns on 3 lights in the room (front hall, coffee station and overdesk area). I could not find a way to isolate the individual light sources. The bed was a comfortable King-size and the temperature was set to a comfortable @ 70 Fahrenheit. I slept well and without interruption. The bathroom is large, well-lighted, and plenty of bath products are provided. Shower pressure is strong.

The gym looks well-designed (I did not use it) and has a good selection of equipment, although a major flaw is that it serves as the pass-through to the pool. Given the lack of changing rooms available, pool-users must walk through the gym to access the restrooms that serve as the changing rooms, leaving a wet path behind. I myself don't really understand why there is an outdoor pool here to start, since the weather is rarely suitable or ideal for outdoor swimming.

All in all, this is a great chain hotel experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor for the views.

I picked this place because it was centrally located to most of the events for Canada Day celebration in Vancouver. I had arrived on the check in time that was told for me to check in at, and I was told that the room I had reserved was not available. I had to wait an hour and half for it. That was not an issue as all I did was read. They comped me free internet in my room for this.
I am used to free internet anyways, which is why I found this weird that I was getting it free for their mistake.
The elevator system here is unique and can be confusing to those who dont get technology well.
Overall this place is average. Kind of pricey for the service you get. I would have rather stayed at a smaller hotel for less money and get the same service or better.
