Blue Horizon is in an excellent location to walk to anything downtown and is close to public transport. I cannot believe it is priced so low. The rooms are a little dated, but everything was clean, comfy and roomy(our room was HUGE) The bathroom was a bit dingy and small. We had a great experience here. We didn't utilize any room services so I wouldn't know how to rate that. It was perfect for our needs and saved us a bunch of money. Can't ask for anymore than that.

I stayed here with my 9 year old granddaughter and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was large with 2 queen sized beds. We had wall to wall windows overlooking Robson Street, the mountains and the water. 2 phones, 2 terry robes, free internet and a great price. What more could you want??

Very pleased with our stay. Clean, comfortable, and quiet, with friendly service from the staff. Make sure you book a 'superior" room though, which will put you on the upper half of the hotel. That's where the Wow! factor is with that fantastic view of the city, park, and water. We spent a good deal of time out there, with coffee in the morning and wine at night. Showed pictures to a friend and they asked if we'd been up in a plane - but no, it was just the view from our balcony! Our room had a comfy bed and pillows, a small refrigerator, coffee maker, and enough space to feel comfortable. Great location too, right on Robson, and very easy to get around. The only complaint I'd have would be the lack of free internet, but since we were on vacation, it wasn't nescessarily a bad thing, and if we ever make it back to Vncouver, we sure would stay at Blue Horizon again. With the price, location, and that balcony, it's very hard to beat.

The blue horizon is a good hotel, located downtown on Robson Street. I was lucky enough to be on the 29th floor so had reasonable views and little noise. The room doesn’t appear that large but I think this is mostly down to the way it is laid out. There is a balcony with a large sliding door to access.

Now to the drawbacks: The hotel does NOT have wi-fi, it has free wired internet which was of no use to me as I was travelling with a tablet PC which had no Ethernet socket. They do have a computer you can use but it is $3 for 15 minutes. There was no fridge in the room but ice was available. The room looked a little tatty with a large section of brown metal trunking running along the wall which was bashed in at some points and missing at others - didn’t really affect the use of the hotel room in anyway, just wasn’t pretty. The main drawback from my point of view was that I was looking forward to a hot bath and found that mechanism that operated the plug didn’t work. I tried to push the plug down manually and found it wasn’t connected! It had obviously broken away a long time ago judging by the hair etc grafted onto the broken end (unpleasant ...).

With a little more maintenance and investment, the Blue Horizon would be an excellent hotel, as it is though it is quite good.

We booked the Blue Horizon the night before our Alaska cruise, previously we had been at the Sylvia and in Victoria. The lobby and service were a bit generic, but the room was really great especially the City view at night.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our trip to Canada and Alaska. We got upgraded on arrival to a superior room on the 17th floor which was great. Room was huge with two double beds and a balcony and a great view of downtown in one direction and the sea in the other! Couple of quibbles, the bathroom was a bit on the small size compared to the enormous bedroom, the air conditioning system was effective but very noisy and there was traffic noise which I think could be quite bad on the lower floors....I think it is worth paying the extra to be higher up (very glad we got the upgrade!). Location is good, middle of downtown, walking distance to Stanley Park and Granville Island ferry. We ate breakfast in the restaurant on all three days and the food was really good - can recommend the pancakes! Didn't eat dinner here so can't comment on that but the restaurant was busy whenever we came back to the hotel. Make sure you visit the Gelato opposite (open until 11pm!) - huge selection of fantastic ice creams.

I picked this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and was not disappointed. They allowed an early check-in and we had a room on the 28th floor (out of 31). Our room faced the mountains and water,, and the room had large windows on two sides. You can lay in bed and gaze out at the beautiful view with the sliding door open. The balcony was large enough to bring 2 chairs out and sit. The beds are firm and linens clean and crisp. All the employees we ran into and interacted with were helpful and pleasant. There is wi-fi in the room and we had no trouble using it. You can hear noise from Robson street below even with the windows closed and up so high, but a small price for being in the heart of the action. ANd it didn't affect our sleeping anyway. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely stay here again.
