We stayed one night on the 5th of June after an Alaskan cruise. Room 1801. During our previous stay to Vancouver we stayed at the Hyatt. I would choose Blue Horizon over the Hyatt primarily due to location.

Service: We arrived at 8am and the front desk host was able to check us in. All of the front desk staff was extremely helpful throughout the day. We spoke with several different staff members as the hotel was so convenient that we stopped in during the day. We needed to leave at 4am to catch an early flight and they were helpful in calling a cab and taking care of our bill in the middle of the night.

Rooms: Room was spotless. Decorations were quite bland. Ample counter space. No clothes line or towel rack in the shower. Amenities Included a combo soap, shampoo & conditioner wall dispenser in the shower. Bar soap for sink only. Body lotion. Free internet access, safe and refrigerator. Free coffee, tea and hot water maker. Rooms were extremely spacious. Closet was small and the safe was in the closet so that took up room. However the room was so large that you had ample space to make up for the small closet.

Common areas: The lobby was small was nicely decorated. the interior hallways were sweltering - I think the a/c was not turned on to save energy costs.

Other: This is a stop for the Vancouver HOHO trolley (not the Big Bus). the front desk will give you $2 off coupons. They will also give you detailed city bus directions to all of the attractions and a good map of the city.

Location: Ask for a higher floor. I'm not sure how much the Robson Street clubbing noise would affect lower floors. The location of the hotel was excellent. An abundance of restaurants and shops were just outside our door. There is a 7-11 around the corner and a safeway down the hill. Several 24 hour restaurants within a block.

I reserve a room at the blue horizon Vancouver for 3 nights two weeks in advance;however, when I arrived there, they surprised me by telling me you can't stay here because you are a Vancouver resident. they discriminate me because i am traveling alone and my age. they asked me to find another hotel . I was so upset because they don't have the right to Prevent me from staying in this hotel. I don't recommend this hotel for everybody because the people who work in the front desk are rude specially the manger

P.S I am a international student in Canada.

We stayed in Vancouver a couple of days after our cruise to Alaska. This hotel was one of the coolest things about our short stay. Although a little dated in decor, the rooms are huge, beds are super comfy, and the view was spectacular. With windows on two walls and a balcony we had a view of the harbor, the city and the snow covered mountain. (25th floor) Robson Street can be a little loud, but if you are in the upper floors, it's not bothersome. The sightseeing Trolley stops at the hotel and hotel staff was very helpful in directing us to restaurants etc. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The worst customer service was given, right from check in to check out. Snotty Front Staff and the General Manager. HA - what a joke. Get a life woman!
I requested a room 5 weeks in advance. Did I get the ocean view room i paid for? Of course not. I got a room right above the bar with air vents rumbling all night.Trust me and when I asked about my reservation requests. They didn't give a flying hoot.
There are way better places to stay In Vancouver!!

if you are looking for a less expensive than most alternative in vancouver this may be the right hotel for you. , walking distance to downtown.on a busy shopping street, less than
a mile to stanley park. spacious room, balcony. not the cheapest hotel in town but i
think it gives the best bang for the buck.parking was 14.00 a night and they don"t
recommend keeping anything in the car in view . with everything so close we walked everywhere anyway.there is a nice sightseeing trolley service that stops at the hotel every 20 minutes or so.also there a lot of restaurants to choose from nearby

We have just spent 4 nights at the Blue Horizon at the end of an Alsaka cruise, and it was every bit as good as expected.

The location on Robson Street is very good, although quieter in one of the rooms to the rear. The reception/lobby is fairly small and unimpressive, something that cannot be said about the rooms. We were not able to work the upgrade miracle and get something on the top-floor, but our 9th floor room was huge, airy, set on a corner, and with a small balcony . By comparison the bathroom seemed small, but like the rest of the accomodation was very well appointed, only missing a retractable clothesline to have it all. The beds were both large and very comfortable, there was a TV, fridge, safe, and complimentary internet, and everything was spotlessly clean. We had breakfast each morning in the Inlets bistro, and again it was top-class in terms of quality, speed, and service. All the staff we met were unfailingly pleasent, friendly, and helpful, whether from the restaurant, reception, or room service.

We changed our Vancouver hotel booking to the Blue Horizon on the basis of the TA reports. It proved to be a good decision, and the Blue Horizon fully deserves its high ratings.

This is an excellent hotel. All the previous reviews are correct. It is situated in the most attractive part of Robson Street, right in the middle of all the excellent shopping and entertainment. If this is your first time to Vancouver, this would be the best location to explore it from.

The most impressive thing about Blue Horizon is the value. The price is very reasonable for what you get. The quality of the hotel is exceptional. In fact, I would say it competes favourably with establishments which are twice as expensive. It is clean. The rooms are large, bright and well equipped. The service is great. The views from the rooms are to die for. There is free high speed internet, which is a huge plus. There is a large safe in the room. The beds are comfortable. There is lots of parking available (though not free - $14 a night).

One quick tip: before making a reservation, check out the Tourism Vancouver website. It often has special promotion offers which will give you even more incredible savings. We were able to save $50 a night this way and got a spectacular room on the 25th floor with a great view of Robson Street.

Overall, I would say this is the best value and the best bang for your buck you can get in Vancouver. Even the most picky travellers should be satisfied. Highly recommended.
