We stayed two nights at the Blue Horizon. Having a "Hop-on-Hof-off" bus stop in front of the hotel was very convenient. We did a lot of sight-seeing and enjoyed pleasant weather the first day. We ate at Joe Fortes, down the strreet, the first night and ate and played pool at the sports bar next door the next night. We ate delicious eggs benedict for breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Our room was clean and comfortable, but not particularly modern. On our second day, Housekeeping came very late, near 5:00, after we had been out all day. We said it was okay if she just came in and worked around us. She did and was very pleasant and efficient. She spent almost a half hour in our room and did a good job of replenishing our coffee, cleaning, and bed making. She did not change our sheets, but she removed all the bedding, shook it all out, remade the bed, then vacuumed. I was actually impressed. In the lobby, there was ever-present, pleasant workers, greeting, opening doors, working the desk. My one complaint is there was space between the floor and the door. We could see light from the hall and the door slamming from other rooms was loud.

Like the title says, location was good, right on Robson. Restaurants everywhere, shopping steps away. Have a coffee on the patio and people watch,it's all good. Room was large and clean, bed was comfy, hotel was quiet and the deck was nice to have a morning coffee on. Restaurant was just redone nicely, breakfast was reasonable and tasty. We usually catch the bus into town from Horseshoe bay and the hotel is a 2 minute walk from the bus stop which we like.

Room Tip: South side rooms for most sunshine, higher you go the better the views are

The hotel is well located with easy access to Robson Street (shopping area), Stanley park and the water front. Rooms are very well furnished. The mattress was of good quality but needed to be replaced. I would have expected housekeeping to provide on loan an AC plug converter. Cost of a converter from the shops across the street is 12 $ Canadian. Lastly I would have preferred that the hotel offer breakfast included lodging. The on site cafe is quite good but you can get a better offer at the Starbucks 2 blocks down the street.

Room Tip: For a good view I recommend a deluxe room above 20th floor with a bay view. Room will also be quiete...

Nice location and rooms, but forget being able to have a beer in the room... The "bar" associated with the hotel won't allow a take out to the room as we were rudely informed by the bar staff.

Seems a little crazy given you can head to the local liquor store and stock the in-room fridge.

This is a older property but they make up for that with a very pleasant staff. Mathew the doorman was eager to please, the front desk staff were great and any other staff we encountered were all very friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We liked the location and the breakfast downstairs was also good. We would stay here again.

The hotel is terrific for location and view. Our room was on the upper floor of the hotel and the scenery was great. Our room was a corner with large glass windows and a small walk out balcony. So many restaurants, shopping , public transportation and attractions that were easy to walk to.

We had a room on the 7th floor, so our view was mostly high-rise buildings although we could see the water. The view from higher floors is better. The room was nice, quiet, and spacious. Previous reviews mentioned poor service, but I observed staff going out of their way to help out. They have small elevators, but since they carry fewer people, we didn't have long to wait. We asked for a wake-up call, and it was on the button. They said we didn't need to call for a taxi because one would be waiting. We checked out at 5:00 a.m., and they were right!
