“Fantastic hotel and value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2012

I stayed for 6 nights at the Blue Horizon while in town for a course, which was being held at the hotel. The room I had was fantastic...large, clean and with a spectacular view of the mountains, English Bay, Stanley Park and Robson Street. Every room gets its own balcony with a corner view, and if the weather is good, you will appreciate the ability to step outside and marvel at the sights.

The course was held in the meeting rooms on the 31st floor of the hotel, and let me tell you, it was sometimes hard to focus because of the views. Windows on three sides offered a stunning panorama of the city, and even the locals from Vancouver were amazed that such a gem existed.

I would definitely go back, and would recommend this hotel to anyone for its great downtown location, inexpensive rates, quality rooms and good service.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor to avoid traffic noise from Robson Street, and if you can get a northwest corne...

I stayed in 2407 for 40 nights during the Vancouver Olympics !!!! Yes 40 nights!! Location was great, staff was awesome, and well youre probably reading this review cause you want to know about the room..... The rooms were huge, plenty of windows usually on both corners of the room!! At first when I was told I was staying at the blue horizon I got scared but after being there and experiencing it I would go there again in a heartbeat !!!! Hands down recommended!!!! Close to everything, clean, friendly staff, and great beds!!!

This hotel is on Robsin in the heart of Vancouver DT! It is close to everything - restaurants, shops, Stanley Park, and the sky trains! The price of the hotel is very reasonable. The service is great and they have a garage for your car ($15+tax per day). If you park your car there make sure to hide everything! I heard some cars got broken into... The rooms are spacious, I believe the hotel is designed so that every room are coner rooms with lots of windows. The bathrooms are a little small and the carpets are outdated. They have a pool that opens I believe until 10 or 11pm.

We chose Blue Horizon for our 3 night stay over St Patty's day weekend based on other reviews, price and location. We were pleased with our choice. The location is very central to walk to nearly everywhere in the downtown area -- we walked to Yaletown, Gastown and to the Seawall. Buses are close-by for Stanley Park as well and the bus drivers are friendly and never made us pay for a ride! A great local breakfast place right down the street - De Dutch and a local market as well as a Whole Foods are just blocks away. We were upgraded from a one bed to a 2 queen corner room -- in fact I think they are all corner rooms with many windows and a balcony. The room was big and comfortable. Even with all the windows, it was quiet and with nice curtains, you can really get the room dark. The room was equipped with a coffee maker, electric tea kettle, fridge, safe, and bathrobes. They were very nicely decorated and for $100/night, we thought the room was an excellent value. The beds really were super comfy. My only complaint was no WIFI! I took my iPad thinking I would have access and had to walk to corner coffee shop to get coverage. The rooms are hard-wired with internet, but no WiFi. Parking - yes and easy in their garage for $15/day. There is no concierge so I found the front desk to be nearly constantly busy, but the staff were very helpful and friendly! Take your bathing suit for the pool and hot tub downstairs!

Room Tip: The north rooms look right into several high-rise apartment buildings, which is interesting in itsel...

As we approached the front desk, the clerks were very busy. They were very kind and worked hard and efficiently to ensure accurate and friendly service. I was pleasantly surprised when I entered my room on only the 7th floor of about 23. The view was awesome, being surrounded by all the beautiful downtown buildings. The hotel was full and we were by the elevator so I was grateful it was not loud. The rooms were nice and I would be happy to stay again. The only downfall was the pool; it was much smaller than it appeared in the pictures. It was loud with the other people and kids so we decided not to go in after seeing and hearing the situation. No big deal though, they let us check out at 12 instead of eleven so we were able to relax awhile longer.

my friends from vancouver are amazed how big the rooms are and how convenient the hotel is. top marks for being so close to stanley park which is just 10 mins away! loads of food around to choose from, there is a large safeway towards the end of the Robson Road towards stanley park area so that's really convenient.

staff are really nice and friendly. particularly love the mattress as it is just the right level of firmness for me, and it's quite lovely to have ur own balcony.

unfortunately was put on a low-ish floor so can't see very far, but from photos of other travellers i got quite jealous! i will describe my room as old and in need of renovation, but still comfy. the bathtub needs to be changed as it looks so dated as if it's been there for 20 years (the only reason why i don't give it 5 stars)

highly recommended if you are not after real luxury. this will still be my first choice if i come to vancouver again.

Room Tip: higher floors. but there are building works going on around the area so try to get them to allocate...
