While there were some pluses, overall I did not enjoy my stay here. The room was TINY, and creaked every time we walked around, and the floors were slanted downward. There is only one elevator and it was also tiny, and always took forever to go up or down. No more than 4 people could fit comfortably in the elevator, and only 2 people with luggage.

There was no fridge in the room, no full length mirror, no doorman or valet when we arrived. There was a sign in the bathroom that says they change the sheets every 2 days; however, on the 3rd day our sheets had not been changed. When we requested a change, we found out that they changed their policy to changing sheets every 3 days without informing us beforehand, and the housekeeping closes at 4pm. The room service also has limited hours. There was usually only 1-2 staff at the front desk at any given time, and we usually had to wait to ask questions; on one occasion, someone working the front desk gave us incorrect instructions to a bus stop, which wasted almost an hour of our time.

While there was free hot breakfast, the food was not appetizing and the server was extremely rude, to the point that we almost didn't return for the next day. The potatoes were simply awful (definitely old), and the bread stale, and the yogurt and butter not chilled.

Overall, I would not recommend staying here.

Thank you for taking the time to share you experiences, we’re disappointed to hear that your stay at the St. Regis was less than satisfactory.

We’d like to thank you for bringing the linens card discrepancy to our attention. This is the first time we have been made aware of the and we’re having the cards redone to reflect our new, more environmentally-friendly standard. Having said that, guests are always free to request that linens be changed to their liking, whether that be daily or weekly.

We always have staff on duty when a valet or doorman is needed and they deal with all guests requests in order as quickly as possible. We’re proud of the awards we have won for our service and the extra effort made by our team to accommodate every guest.

The functional size of our rooms and single elevator are all part and parcel of being a boutique heritage property. Many guests enjoy the atmosphere and elegance of being in a century-old piece of Vancouver history.

Thank you for bringing your disappointment with our breakfast to our attention. While we can assure you that we use fresh ingredients, often delivered daily, the promptness with which they reach guests’ tables can affect the perception of freshness and correct serving temperature. We have addressed your feedback with our kitchen.

Thanks again for taking the time to comment and please feel free to contact me directly if you would like to discuss your stay further.

This was our first time to Vancouver and the St Regis was part of a British Airways deal. A really good clean, friendly Hotel. Great free breakfast and a gem of a Dinner next door. Only downside is there is a club next door and a bit loud at weekends.

My second stay at St. Regis, and once again thought everything was fabulous. The doormen rush to your taxi to take care of you when you arrive. They bundle you into the taxi when you leave. Free phone calls WORLDWIDE. Free MADE TO ORDER breakfast. Free bottled water daily. Impeccably clean. Excellent front desk service; they can help you get anywhere. Pub and very good restaurant adjacent. And the location is convenient to everything--shopping, sightseeing, public transit, restaurants. This will always be my choice in Vancouver.

This hotel has some great things about it. Location is great. The rooms are very clean. The rooms are not huge but the wallpaper was amazing! The staff was nice.

Here are the negitives. No fridge in the room. Okay not a big thing but still something to mention. The queen sized bed was small. It seemed like a double. I am sure it wasn't a standard queen. The hotel is on a noisy corner which doesn't help sleeping, nothing to be done about that.

The biggest negiitve was the breakfast which was sub standard. We both had different choices from the menu. There are 3. My sausage was something from costco. The coffee was weak. The hashbrowns reheated from last week. You know when they get all wrinkly on the outside due to being old? That kind. My partners omelet was like a melted plastic plate. However the orange juice was great!

Overall not worth the price. I would recommend the Hyatt or some such hotel for almost the same price. I was not unhappy with the hotel overall. I just think for the price the room could be upped a notch and the breakfast was probably one of the worse 3 I have ever had(including the time I got amebic dysentry). For the price you expect eggs on salmon or some such thing but you get diner down the street.

We stayed recently (July 2013) at the "boutique hotel" St. Regis and loved it. Well located, very nicely decorated, wonderful beds, excellent breakfast (gratis) and superior staff. Discovered, to our delight, that all phone calls were gratis... to anywhere in the world. Bottled water replenished daily for our sightseeing excursions. Highly recommend.

This hotel was in a perfect location right in the heart of the city and extremely close to the major attractions. Most staff on the front desk were generally helpful. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable,

My Mom and sister spent a lovely time in Vancouver recently and booked this hotel based on a Trip Advisor recommendation. We were greeted by the doorman after a long day of travel and the front desk clerks were very helpful in getting us settled in. We enjoyed two double rooms that were very clean and contemporary. The rooms are not large but big enough for 2 adults. Wifi was included in the price and well as breakfast. The bathroom had a stand alone shower and 2 sinks and nice lotions and shampoos. The air conditioner worked very well and kept the room very cool. Breakfast is downstairs and serves just about anything you can want. (Remember to leave a tip) We got lots of recommendations for restaurants and shopping ideas from the front desks personal. Good location too. I would stay there again.
