After a lot of looking for a decently priced hotel close to the cruise ship port I finally decided on the excellently located St. Regis. Getting here from the airport is quick and painless on the rail, with only a block and a half walk from the station. There is a ton of shopping and food options in the area and if you can easily walk to the cruise ship port (about 4 and a half blocks). The service was friendly and helpful. Next time I am in Vancouver, I'm staying at the St. Regis!

Room Tip: If you are concerned about noise from the street ask for a room higher up. I've seen some reviews complaining of the noise but we were on the 3rd floor street side and had no troubles.

My wife and I, along with our 14-month old child, recently stayed at the St. Regis before and after a cruise experience, based on reviews from fellow TripAdvisor patrons. The hotel is a nice boutique-style one, and our suite was absolutely perfect for our family (we chose to pay a bit more to upgrade and we're really happy we did for extra room). I also very much appreciated some fine details such as free breakfast - and a good one - as well as the free Wi-Fi and unlimited global long distance. These are little touches that allow for a hotel to rise above some of the bigger chains.

However, that is not the crux of this review. I feel the need to provide this review about the staff and the amazing service they provide. Far above anything I have experienced from a hotel, and we are frequent travelers. In particular, I think it's worthy to call out two people - Gary and Ryan, who worked so hard to ensure we had a good experience as well as were well taken care of. With such a young child, things are harder than average, and from setting up a crib to heating up baby food for us to helping us plan rain/shine activities that were family-friendly, Gary and Ryan were completely on top of things. We were amazed to pull up to the front a week after our first stay (after the cruise) only to see Gary smiling at us, remembering our daughter's name, helping us with our baggage, and asking us how our trip was and how he could help us for the remaining day we had there. And when Ryan showed up to relieve Gary for the day, nothing changed - still top notch care and attention to our experience.

Look - you can stay anywhere. There are nice rooms with nice features all over. What differentiates one place from another sometimes are the little touches - the people - who help ensure you maximize your time with them and their city. This St. Regis has that, and I encourage everyone not to think twice about booking here.

Thank you kindly to everyone at the St. Regis for everything and special thanks to Gary and Ryan!

Room Tip: Always worth asking for an upgrade - even if for a small fee!

We stayed two nights at the St. Regis before catching a Disney Alaskan cruise. We chose the hotel because it was not too far from the cruise terminal, thinking we could walk. However, we chose to take taxis to the terminal since we had so much luggage. The hotel was simply fantastic. It's an easy walk to the waterfront and to Gastown and the area felt safe. The hotel looked to be newly renovated and the rooms we're beautiful and beds comfy. My two young girls loved sitting by the window and watching the crowds pass by. The hotel offered free wifi, free bottled water, a free made to order breakfast, and to our surprise, free calls EVERYWHERE!!! Even to the US! I can't say enough good things about the staff. They were unfailingly helpful and courteous. If you're looking for a great little hotel in the heart of the action of Vancouver, you will not be disappointed with St. Regis!

Room Tip: We were in a lower corner room facing the street, but the noise really didn't bother us. The corner room seemed larger than our companion's room and it had three windows.

We were in Vancouver for a conference and stayed for 6 nights. This a boutique hotel in the heart of Vancouver. We had a beautiful corner room on the 2nd floor with window facing the fron street and the side street. 11 minute walk to the Convention Center and the Port (Canada Place). The hotel service was excellent, from the front desk to the cleaning staff to the restaurant staff. They were friendly, courteous and helped us with all our questions and needs. Great value because for the cost of the room we got free Wi-Fi, free bottled water, free local and International calls and a free cook to order breakfast every morning. The room was very nice, clean and updated. Like all city center hotels you do hear some sounds from the street below in the mornings and late night on the weekends. If this is a problem for you ask for a room to the rear. Also, if you like Morton's or Smith & Wollensky try Gotham Steakhouse in the hotel. We ate there twice and our server Corey not only gave us great service but was full of information about BC. There are all kinds of restaurants all around the hotel, including a mall food court a block away for something quick. We had a great time in Vancouver and will be back and will stay at the St Regis.

Room Tip: If you don't like the sounds from the city center ask for a rear facing room.

Excellent facilities & rooms. Quiet despite central location. Customer service exceptional - they took time to respond to me as an individual and made me feel like a valued customer. Great location for getting around in Vancouver
