We arrived at the Westin at about 9:30 am as we had just departed our ship. When we went to check in there were no rooms available. The front desk was very professional and requested we check back periodically. Since I had anticipated this problem, I had set up a tour of the town for 11:00. The bellman secured our luggage and even marked a bag "fragile", for us. We were assured the bags would be in a locked room. He then gave us a map and showed us where the shopping was and where to stay away from. I then mentioned to my girlfriend we needed to call the tour company and tell them we have arrived. The bellman over heard me and offered to call the tour company for us. Before I knew it he asked what company and was dialing the phone. Nice touch! This is what service is all about. The hotel is a short walk to all the high priced shops on Robson St. A perfect location.
After our window shopping and the city tour by Landsea, which was great, we returned to find our free upgraded room ready. We were surprised to see how big the room was. It felt like a small apt complete with a kitchette. We never used the kinchette since we were only there a few nights but it was nice to have it available, if needed. There was also complimentary water in the refrigerator. We were on the 29th floor with an excellant view of Vancouver. Beautiful, especially at night. Breakfast in the resturaunt was pretty good. Since were are Starwood members we received 20% off the food in the resturaunt. This was a nice perk for being a member. The food was good as was the service. The day before check out, we received a call asking if we needed assistance in setting up transportation arrangements to the airport or where ever we were travelling. Another nice touch!
Overall, the Westin exceeded my expectations. I would be glad to recommend this place to anyone and if I return to Vancouver, the Westin will be where I stay!

Big, spacious rooms. A "Heavenly" bed. Good location. Very friendly and efficient staff. We couldn't fault this hotel.

We stayed at the Westin for two nights in Spetember while attending a concert and were very impressed. We arrived early and were able to check in to the room straight away. We had been given a room that did not match our reservation - not a real surprise as we had booked through expedia and have had problems with their reservations before. On returning to the front desk the staff had made keys for our new room. This was all done with no fuss and could not have been handled better.

We had a deluxe one bedroom suite and it was fantastic.
Decorated in subtle tones and with blond wood furniture the rooms are classy in an understated way. The convenience kitchen consisting of a microwave, toaster, dishwasher and sink was a welcome addition also. The heavenly bed was unbelievable, pretty much the best bed I have ever slept in.

The bathroom was well equipped with all the amenities you would expect from a hotel such as the Westin. The shower was also amazing, twin shower heads that pumped out as much water as a small waterfall, I didn't wan't to get out!

All of the staff that we dealt with were courteous and very efficient. Two special mentions: to the manager on duty on our day of check out who called before we had departed to ensure we had a pleasant stay, and the night bell/guest services staff who gave us directions and recommendations for dining and bars - well done gentlemen.

Would return to the Westin Grand without hesitation...

The Westin Grand is average overall. Some of the above average features were the beds, the bathtubs in the room, the outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, the fitness room, and the pet amenities. Below average features were the cleanliness of the rooms - both of the rooms had either a piece of chocolate or caramel popcorn on the floor, the blankets brought up for the sofabed were not the same down comforters on the beds, and for room service in the morning, half of the croissants were fresh and delicious while the other half were recycled from the day before, judging by their texture. The rooms with the floor to ceiling walls are much nicer than the ones without. The Westin Grand would be a better place to stay if they didn't give guests the feeling that they were being nickel and dimed...

The Westin Grand is in the heart of downtown, right on Robson Street. Good location, beautiful lobby and bar. We had booked a deluxe one-bedroom suite but when we got to the room, the room did not match the room description I had printed off the web. I went back to the front desk and showed the clerk our reservatin and the room description (floor to ceiling windows, balcony, etc.) and she put us in a beautiful room (actually an upgrade from a queen to a king) with no fuss whatsoever. The suite was beautiful! Big entry, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. Good views although there is a lot of construction going on around the Grand right now. We were very happy with our stay!
