“Nice little hotel, but seemingly empty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2012

Stayed 4 nights for a conference. Had a nice little room tucked away at the back of the hotel. Very clean and quiet. However, it took three days before I encountered another guest in a hallway or elevator.

Art was different, the little red men in the lobby are a little creepy. Also the restaurant was closed, might have been an idea to have had a listing of good places to eat and the distance from the hotel available. The front desk was not a lot of help except in recommending chain restaurants.

Room Tip: Back of the hotel was quiet but NO view whatsoever

Just spent T-Day wknd here. We and our friends were very satisfied by the price, the artsy feel, very friendly staff, and the quality of the rooms. Enjoyed meeting other traelers at the (Mon-Thurs) wine tasting. Staff graciously loaned us 2 umbrellas for our rainy all-day outing. Sure the hallways could use a freshening up, but the rooms are fine. The new restaurant, Forage, is a big thumbs up. And, yes, $29 plus fees for parking is quite steep, but sorta comparable. We would definitely stay here again.

Great location on Robson street a main drag for good shopping and strolling
Close to so much .
The decor is very cool with works by prominent artists.
The rooms are adequate .
The front sek staff were most helpful and make excellent recommendations.
Overall good experience.
Unfortunately the restaurant was being renovated.

My girlfriend and I spent one night here for her birthday. This is likely the most sustainable hotel in the city, along with the most comfortable. The rooms are decorated simply, with an artistic touch, and calm, comfortable colours. It is also, compared to other hotels in the city, decently priced. We paid $100 for a beautiful room, king sized bed, nice view and bay windows. Quality coffee provided, comfortable pillows, bath robes on request, unique local art on the walls, and A COMPOST!!!! This is a seller for me!
The hotel is also run partly on solar power, which the facility installed in the last 5 years in another attempt to reduce their carbon footprint.
Also, if you do not want the option of a potential refund on the room, they will knock off 10% or so. BCAA gets you another 10% off. The reservation staff are helpful and willing to talk about lower prices.

Room Tip: The hotel has 6 floors and 4 types of rooms. Standard are the best deal I believe, unless you would...

Hotel was just OK, a bit run down, soso cleanliness, certainly no 4 star rating. It's also tired and has a bit of a seedy feel to it. There are far better 4 star hotels than this. Valet parking with tax is ridiculously expensive

I would give this hotel a rating of Good, (better than average) and it had many qualities that were Very Good. One of these being its location right on Robson Street -within walking distance to great shopping, restaurants, and Stanley Park . The service also very good - all of our requests were handled efficiently and with a smile. A big plus for the hotel is that it offers free WiFi and long distance calling within North America. The room was clean and the beds were relatively comfortable, but the bathroom was small with older fixtures. Our view was of the back lane and neighboring apartments- so we kept the curtains closed.

I would recommend this hotel to those who don't mind staying farther from the waterfront. I personally would prefer to be closer to the water with better views.

Room Tip: Ask for upper floors with a view.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very very comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. It's centrally located and I had a great view of the water. I would recommend anyone to go there and I plan to return on my next trip.
