This is one of my favorite places to go in Vancouver. I love walking through the market and looking at all the different types of fruit and vegetables. The smell of all the fresh produce is fantastic. There is a food court where food can be purchased.

On the exterior you will find a lot of stores selling anything from hammocks to handmade brooms. There are street performers who will entertain you and make you smile.

Overall a great escape for a few hours.

Cons
Parking is a pain and expensive.

This was just an amazing experience. So much beautiful fresh produce that as a bit of a foodie I was just disappointed that I couldn't shop! From the mountains of glorious fruit to meat and fish counters, cheeses, breads, pastas, coffees, teas, deli products it was never ending and there are non food products as well! We came late in the afternoon (it's open till 7) and then ate at the Keg steak restaurant which was excellent. There are a few other restaurants on the island and some very interesting shops.
It's not picturesque but it's great fun and well worth the visit.

Prepare to spend a few hours checking out this area. Some nice artisans and great market. If you like shopping for local things this is the place.

A few nice restaurants for all tastes,a great fruit and vegetable market, many shops and stores providing lovely products especially the ladies fashions and marine sporting items and clothing. I love listening and watching the talented buskers entertaining everyone. Just sitting in the sun and meeting people from all over the world if very stimulating. In the evening there are a number of theatres that have very interesting productions. There is even a Childrens play area. A hotel provides accommodation right in the heart of The Granville Island. I love this spot and spend many hours of my retirement days. Worth a visit, that you not regret.

A huge selection of goods to choose from with local content. We purchased a locally made handbag and bought some fresh fruit along with the usual tourist trinkets.

The tuna chowder is great and seems to be a favourite.

Parking is busy and you have to pay for most spots but there is a couple of spots you don't have to pay and you get 1 hour free but you have to be lucky to grab one.
