You cannot miss this on a trip to Vancouver! The farmer's market alone is worth the (very easy!) trip to this urban (and bridge connected) island.

We went just to look around and spent most of a day, wandering the food stalls, eating little bits of delicious delicacies, checking out all the terrific arts and crafts shops and galleries, finished off with a trip on the little ferry up False Creek. Even in winter, it is magic.

Lots of shops and places to eat. They have local maple honey you can buy here, which I bought and loved. They have interesting markets and have lots of different stuff to buy from souvenirs to vegetables, meats, fish and dessert!

Walking around the food stalls at Granville Island made me wish we had a kitchen in our hotel, because I was tempted by so many of the ready-made foods that were being prepared. Don't grab the first macaron that you see...hold out until you walk all around the building.
