“Interesting place”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

Used the 'hop on, hop off' trolley bus to get around Vancouver. Got off at Granville island and had a leisurely stroll around the shops and market. English entertainer was amusing people in the market area.

Eclectic range of shops and stalls and we came across an excellent street entertainer who had the crowd mesmerised.

“Thursday Farmer's Market”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

Visiting Granville Island's Famer's Market on a Thursday late September was entertaining. Local farmers displayed their fruits and vegetables in one of the parking lots. There was also a pie contest, food demonstration, and music playing. In addition, inside Granviile Market we found a variety of fruit, vegetables, fish, cheese, and flowers plus many food vendors. Returning to Granville Island on Friday, the atmosphere was much different. The inside vendors were still available as well as restaurants, but we truly liked the Thrusday market with added local flavor and music.

We love to go to pick up fresh seafood at Granville Island Market after a visit to the aquarium. We like how they have winter activities for kids such as gingerbread men decorating

“Overrated”
Reviewed September 29, 2012

Most of the boutique type stores charge far more than they should for inferior product, though there are some good artisans displaying and selling their wares. The market is okay, but you can buy fresh fruit, vegetables and seafood for less in any good supermarket. It's a tourist-trap.
