“Pleasant Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

Stayed here on business with some of my colleagues. Great location: walking distance to the convention centre, shops, restaurants. The usual outstanding service from the attentive staff you will find at any Four Seasons. This property was an older one and while it is still beautiful, could use some updating (main lobby, etc).

Great location in the heart of Vancouver in walking distance to great stores and restaurants. Rooms were exceptional, extremely well maintained, modern and clean. Service was amazing every where in the hotel.

Another stay and another great experience. Stayed for two nights for work and was given a complimentary room upgrade to a large suite. Everything about this hotel is fabulous. Yew bar and restaurant is also fantastic...the food, the wine...everything!

Our first trip to Vancouver and writing this review in the Four Seasons one-bedroom suite. We booked a regular room, and the check-in staff was kind enough to upgrade us to a one-bedroom city view suite. It is a good thing because the weather is so bad ( cold and rainy everyday, we are from sunny Southern California). The hotel is a bit dated, but is well kept. Staff is courteous and service is great as expected from Four Seasons. The highlight of our stay is the beautiful gym located on the 4th floor. The pool extends from indoors to outdoors and is well heated. The gym equipments are state of the art. It is spacious and is very trendy and tranquil. We make a point of going to the gym everyday of our stay. The hotel is connected to several shopping malls. The skytrain station is right underneath the hotel, which makes it very convenient to get to and from the YVR airport. It is also located within walking distance to the Canada Place and several shopping and dining districts. The concierge service is exceptional.

We've been staying at the Four Seasons Vancouver for a number of years and have seen quite a few changes--almost all for the better. And some things haven't changed, which is fine.

Our most recent visit, on a rainy October weekend, showed why we keep returning.

Service: From the the time we arrived and gave our car to the valet to the time the car was returned to us on departure, Four Seasons staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome. The valet was friendly and efficient, the front desk greeted us by name, the concierge gave us good tips and directions, housekeeping was efficient, room service was gracious and the pool staff helpful.

Facilities: There are flashier hotels in Vancouver, but the Four Seasons is, well, comfortable. Decor is cheery, the bed was divine, baths well-designed, lighting just right. It's as if the designers and management actually spent some time in the rooms. And now wi-fi is free, as well it should be at this price point.

Food and beverage: Yew has become quite a fine seafood restaurant, with knowledgeable servers, imaginative dishes and a great B.C. wine selection. One quibble: It can become quite noisy, especially during special events. The bartender makes a great martini. I'm also very pleased with the Yew to Go option, which makes it easy to find morning coffee.

Location: it's in the heart of downtown and directly above the Pacific Place shopping center. It's also only a 15-minute walk from Rogers Arena.

Now a couple of issues: On our most recent visit there seemed to be a larger than usual number of guests who were part of large groups, which made for a more chaotic and noisy lobby. Also, it seemed that the front desk was a bit understaffed. Maybe I've been spoiled by previous visits, but I had to wait longer than in the past for attention.

Still, this remains the only place we will stay in Vancouver.

Staying at a corp rate makes this extremely good value.. Great hotel, very good food ( the Yew restaurant is really super) nice staff but a little bit impersonal, but hey, you can't get everything all the time. I am super happy.

Stayed at the Four Seasons in downtown Vancouver, B.C. for a couple of times for business during the past months. The location is perfect in downtown Vancouver, in walking distance to many attraction and restaurants, the conference center and harbor. The hotel is across the street of the Canada Line city center stations which gets you to the airport without any hassle in 20 min.
The staff is very helpful and very courteous, the restaurant and bar located on the lobby level serve excellent food and wine. The pool and workout area is also great to start the day or relax in the evening. The rooms are spacious, the beds are very comfortable. But interior is, beside of the high value used materials and furniture, style wise average, sort of not really in sync with a Four Seasons imho. Same is true with the bath, which of course has everything but... Especially in a stylish beautiful city like Vancouver which is really a pearl on the Northwest seaboard, you expect better interior style. So minus 1 star for an overall excellent hotel.
And they did away charging for internet extra recently (and I complained every time), thank you. Never understood why a five start hotel which charges upward 280.- a night would charge for internet extra.

Room Tip: Get a room above the 17 floor
