An amazing collection of artefacts. Great tour from volunteer guide. More questions than answers about the skilled art of the Aboriginal artists.. but a fitting testament to their culture.

They have periodic short tours of different areas of the museum both inside and out. It is a good way to learn more about the area. The museum is build on an indigenous peoples native village and was used during WWII as a lookout and battery to protect Vancouver from Japanese attack which never occurred. One of the batteries can still be viewed outside and one is on the inside with a pieces of art atop. They have wonderful collections of indigenous peoples life style.

This is a well laid out museum with a very good selection of totem poles. There is a lot to see so you can end up spending many hours here.

Beautiful totems, statues and other art pieces created especially by First Nations. I personally would have made separate rooms with artifacts related to the North American First Nations´ art and the rest of the world. In one big room, it was a bit confusing.

This is a world class museum. Although it focusses on First Nations of Western Canada, it covers many other natives in North America and elsewhere. It is currently being renovated, but when we went nothing detracted from the magnificence of the exhibits. The museum store is excellent. Take a docent tour.
