When I first visited the Vancouver Aquarium in 1989, it was a very different place than now. The whole place has changed and is constantly improving, embedding education into interesting and engaging materials, accessible to all ages. The Aquarium introduces visitors to many of the local-water inhabitants, as well as those of further afield.
It is obvious that the research into animal husbandry and conservation is stitched into daily practices, and they still make it fun! The information is easily accessible, the facilities vastly improved and the general services make this busy pleasure to visit.
TIP: Take the #19 local bus (Stanley Park) and enjoy a walk down to the Aquarium. Or walk around the water from downtown, past Coal Harbour.
