“Beluga's are only reason to visit.”
Reviewed July 31, 2008

It's small and crowded, and basically like every other aquarium you will visit in North America; however, they do have the Beluga's, so that is something worth seeing.

“Crowded and Too Small, but Interesting”
Reviewed July 7, 2008

I'm also not impressed with the cramped size of the aquarium for both the animals/mammals and the visitors. There are long lines and waits. If you can get beyond this the site itself is really quite interesting with the baby beluga and mother, the dolphins, seals, sea lions. Inside you can see the sharks, bats, etc.

The price is about $25 and fair. If you have a pass card or advance tickets you can avoid the line to get in. They didn't say so when asked but the real reason there are more babies born in captivity today is because they can no longer go out and catch some of these sea creatures, including whales like they could twenty years ago as it is illegal for protected species.

“great way to spend a rainy day”
Reviewed July 4, 2008

It was our last day in Vancouver on vacation, and pouring rain, but we decided to head out to Stanley Park anyway. We found our way into Vancouver Aquarium and spent a happy day keeping dry, and enjoying all the fish and animals the Aquarium has to offer.

Despite the rain, they still hosted their outdoor shows featuring the Baluga whales, the sea otters and the sea lions. For those wanting to stay dry, underground viewing rooms are offered, and it is still possible to hear most of the show while watching the animals from an underwater vantage point.

My husband and I spent five hours enjoying the aquarium. The only drawback was the one restaurant for the facility, located outdoors. Most of the tables are outside (and thus were soaking wet), and so we were forced to eat standing up underneath the restaurant's canopy. It offered the usual fast food fare, not too much variety to choose from.

But overall the aquarium is a lovely educational experience, great for kids and adults alike.

“A good afternoon spot.”
Reviewed June 27, 2008

The Vancouver Aquarium is a great place to view sea creatures and things of that nature. All though the viewing areas can get somewhat congested with children and families and strollers ect. on busy days, the layout of the facility makes it easy to get around. The price wasn't bad when i attended and they have student prices which is always a bonus. Maybe the only disturbing thing is that you can eat fish at the aquarium canteen? but it is delicious!

“Lovely aquarium”
Reviewed May 23, 2008

This aquarium has quite a range of species, and the most popular attraction is the beluga whale, though I wasn't quite sure if their tank should have been larger, though the show was quite informative. The other species were really good to see, and it was entertaining watching sea lions spitting at people! It was a good day out and worth a visit.
