The hotel is Un-impressive from the outside. The beauty is in its halls, the nice bar and the caring service. Rooms are very spacious, bed very comfortable and the wireless interest works well. The room tv is huge and modern. Bathroom shower is old and water pressure at the 17th floor was not great.
The breakfast is abundant a la carte plus a small buffet.
The bar downstairs is charming, including a fire place with nice arm chairs around.
The swimming pool is really small, no good for swimmers.
The hotel is very well located for business travelers to get to the city office buildings.

Room Tip: Most rooms would have a view. Perhaps the Roos facing north have a better view. It would be good if...

Book this trip thru Hotwire in the last week. Had two appointments in town within 24 hours so decided to stay over. The room was just right, accessible for my wife. Check in was smooth, got the room for 119.00 plus taxes. Only downer was that they wanted $40.00 for parking, same price for valet parking. Other hiccup was no free wifi, most hotels include that now. Even with these minor disappointments we would stay again. The other minor problem was the shower head in the bathroom was lose and did not stay up. You had to hold it above your head ,awkward. Room 402

I have stayed here a number of times and always been really impressed by the hotel itself, the staff and the location. It is right in the heart of Vancouver near everything including a lot of good restaurants. This last visit was not so impressive. The hot water was only tepid and there were cleanliness issues in the room. The coffee cups were used and the glasses had lipstick on them. When I complained they were very good about it and gave me an upgrade for next time. I am staying there in 2 weeks so we'll see how it is next time.....

Room Tip: The hotel is right downtown so get as high up as possible if traffic noise bothers you.

Bunked in with a friend who'd flown cross continent to a conference held in Vancouver's Waterfront Conference Centre. We had options to locate closer to the harbour however decided on the Sutton Place Hotel for it's convenient location to the VAG, Robson Street, Pacific Centre and other walkable city attractions. It is one of the cities older upscale hotels so it was with baited breath that we made the leap of faith assuming it had been well maintained. We were delighted. It has an old world charm, very clean, excellent service and ease of access to all we wanted to see while downtown Vancouver. It's high end finishes have stood the test of time along with upgrades. If you want upscale, and are tired of minimal modern design in hotel design, book at the Sutton.

I want to review this hotel b/c I feel that it was not worth the stay. I stayed 4 nights in August 2012, and felt that the rooms were very dated (old TV, small room) and the staff was not particularly pleasant to deal with. The restaurant was almost always empty. I actually booked the room as part of a flight package and it included a $75 credit towards the restaurant or the spa. I stopped by the spa area and saw that it was very small, so we opted for a dinner. We were the only ones at around 7pm on a Tuesday night, and the food was just okay. I added tip, and figured the difference between the total and $75 would be what we would owe the next morning when we checked out, right? No. Somehow they came up with a ridiculous number that did not make sense, so after attempting to explain it, they finally obliged with a number closer to the difference. I was getting tired of arguing so we paid and left, frustrated. Very rude, and I would not stay here again.

Have a great stay. People are polite and friendly, but not overly in your face.
Location is excellent. In room safe. High tea available. Parking is $39 plus tax@ night. Hose keeping little slacked off the last day, nothing major, should have reported, but guess they already knew?

Would decently would go back again.

Nice room, beautiful view of Robson street shops and the mountains behind Vancouver. Food was very good, the service good as well. One small detail, the engineering team couldn't get the DVD player working on the flatscreen...oh well.

The restaurant was very nice, the fitness center as well. The locker room was a little small, with a steam (thank you) but other than that pretty bare.
