Educational and exciting - fun for all the family. A whole day can be spent in the different areas both inside and out. Situated near the Olympic village at the end of False Creek and very near the city centre. Ample parking and also on sky train route. A must for families.

This is an expensive visit for adults. It is a very well presented and practical science museum with lots of interesting and useful things for children to learn and understand there is little for any educated adult. If we had a youngster, then I would have been happy spending the money and could easily spend most if not all day there with a child with an enquiring mind.

I would agree with the other comments here about the sexuality exhibition: quite small and well presented for pre-teen to early teens. If any adult learns very much from it I would be surprised.

For adults with a reasonable knowledge of general science, I'd suggest saving your money and going elsewhere.

Science World is a fun place to go but In my Opinion is Over Priced. If you are from out of town or local with younger kids you should totally do it! If you have older kids you might want to skip it of talk to them about it.
It is not in the Main Downtown It is on False Creek so if you are staying in Downtown (i.e: Hyatt, Westin, etc.) you will want to drive or take a taxi since it is not in walking distance to most hotels.

Definitely a place to take the kids. As an adult who enjoys science I was a little bored. There were some enjoyable areas but after a while it fell flat. Not much for astronomy or chemistry... More about physics. A bit expensive.

We went to Science World with our four-year-old and an almost one-year-old and it was a big hit. There was lots to see and do and the interactive displays/exhibits were a particular hit. We spent more than three hours here and could have stayed longer easily. We actually spent so much time in the Eureka gallery that we didn't check-out the Kidspace or the outdoor installations (which look like lots of fun for the children we had with us). Even the baby enjoyed crawling around chasing balls and watching the older children. The Bodyworks area was neat too.

The games/puzzles area was mostly more suited to older children than ours and we skipped the Human Sexuality exhibit for the same reason.

Lunch - a fast food version of White Spot - was decent and there was a lot of seating in the restaurant. There is also a large picnic area for those who bring their own meals/snacks.

We got there fairly early (around 10am) so managed to snag a pretty close parking spot. However, if possible, taking the Skytain to Main Street/Science World station is probably the wisest option.

Science World is a fun place to visit for those with small children!
