Owner description: North America's third-largest park draws eight million visitors per year, many of whom may skate or walk past you on the Seawall, a scenic, 5.5-mile path running along the water on the park's perimeter. It's just one of many trails among the park's 1,000 acres, which also house an aquarium, nature center and other recreational facilities.

Having visited this iconic jewel of an urban forest many times in the past, I selected it as a perfect way to entertain two American guests who visited the city on an overnighter up from Seattle. Both were born and raised on the east coast so the Pacific North West was a new experience for them. One of them had visited the city and the park briefly while waiting to depart on a cruise but was equally impressed as his travelling companion who had not been in Vancouver before. The park is great on any day, in any weather but we lucked out and had a beautiful sunny day. The Seawall for walkers and cyclists runs around the complete end of the peninsula and a one-way drive also circumnavigates the park. If you choose to walk in the park, be aware of cyclists. Both types, the casual tourist rental bike person and the uppity local "cycling enthusiasts", the later being the most annoying as they assume every path and road was put there just for them. If you drive a car into the park, don't hesitate to pick up a parking receipt at any of the handy Pay Stations. It's just a Toonie for and hour and its transferable to any parking spot as you make your way through the park no matter how many stops you make and be aware pay parking is strictly enforced. You don't want to spoil your day with a ticket !

You should know the park is just over 1000 acres in size so if you're going to ramble around on the trails, keep you bearings about you and know where you are. I would recommend this right at the top of your "must see" list when visiting Vancouver and area.

I spent a beautiful September day walking from Yaletown along the seawall to English Bay and around the Stanley Park seawall. It was one of the best things I have done while visiting Vancouver. The views across the water are wonderful ranging from the big ships, to the open ocean, cloud capped mountains and busy harbour. There are beautiful gardens, wildlife, and birds. Thete are many side paths to explore. It would be great to go back and bike along the seawall as well.

Great way to see the park - slow and steady. Great guide and stunning scenery. Whilst in the park we went to Vancouver Aquarium which was also lovely.

We rented bikes 1 block away and rode the rented beach cruisers to Stanley Park. It's a fun and easy ride counter clock wise around the bike trail. But you can only go one direction, so sop if you need to, you can't go backwards. We were able to see the pier, the totem poles, the seaplanes take off, the beach and shop at a tourist store all along the ride. Grea thing for couples to do in under 2 hours. Bike rentals were $25 for the both of us. Definate must do.
