“perfect for cruises!”
Reviewed May 25, 2014

Room overlooking the port was beautiful with it's floor to ceiling window. Staying here between cruises was the best thing we did. Everything was easy and stress free. Definately recommended. Baggage was transferred to the ship for us from the hotel lobby making our embarkation even easier. The staff were exceptional.

Room Tip: Excellent views from our room on the 20th floor.

We decided to go all out and stay here for a few nights. The room was great including the bathroom. There was only the bar fridge so you couldn't put any of your own supplies in there. So I am not sure if we were staying for longer we would have stayed here. It's nice to be able to have some food to save a little cost. View was great (of the harbour), although we went in winter the sky was very grey and not that great. I can just imagine how nice it would look in summer.

For an expensive hotel it was a bit disappointing they didn't offer free wifi. Wifi was available but you had to pay, which I did a few times and the speed was great. We never got room service as it seemed pretty expensive compared to food you can buy not far away.

Location was great and easy to book one of the many trolleys that go around Vancouver. I also used the phone to contact someone in Calgary I would not recommend this and the cost was ridiculous!

Room Tip: if you're not sure about paying the extra for a view, it is definitely worth it!

Stayed two nights at the Pan Pacific in early May with our two young children before departing on a cruise and we loved everything about this hotel. We received an early check-in of 2pm and had a double harbor view room on the ninth floor, no complaints with the room - the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in! The room had a lovely view and plenty enough space for the four of us. The hotel provided cookies and milk for our kids at bedtime which was a nice touch and we all thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous pool and hot tub, we thought this was the nicest hotel pool we have seen and the sunsets are so beautiful from the pool deck. Breakfast in the buffet both mornings was very good with plenty of variety and the location of the hotel is amazing - we so enjoyed watching the cruise ships leave the day before our own cruise and it was a pleasant walk up to the shopping areas. We have zero complaints with this hotel and will absolutely stay here again on any future visits to Vancouver. Thank you Pan Pacific!

We stayed overnight here as a group during a conference. We all had many bags as we were all heading on a cruise the following day. On check-in the Hotel did not seem prepared for us. The check-in process was unorganized and short staffed. The check-in does not happen on the ground floor so you have to carry your bags up several escalators. There was not offer of baggage assistance during the check in.

When we finally arrive at our room we were given a double room instead of the king room we requested. When we called down they did quickly move us to a king room, again no offer of baggage assistance. The room was nice but we had expected something a little more eloquent based on our online research. The room was clean with nice linens. We were on the east side which faces the heliport, which can be noisy. If you get the opportunity ask for the “north harbour” view.

As part of our stay with the group breakfast was arranged in the lobby restaurant. This too seemed to be disorganized and unprepared for our group. The location did not seem big enough and there was not enough staff to handle the group of 250 people. The hotel should have put us in a conference room with a separate buffet. However, once in the food was very good. The selection was also very good. The service was good.

Check out was easy and this is where Pan Pacific gets high marks. They transported our bags from our room to the pier for our cruise. This was an exceptional service and at no cost. We of course tipped the staff who provided this service.

I was disappointed we did not have more time to explore the lobby shops as they looked beautiful. I would definitely stay here again. The location is great right in the heart of downtown and right on the water at Canada Place. The subway stops right at the hotel as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a North Harbour View Room it is a much better view and not as noisy.

The Pan Pacific Hotel Vancouver located on Vancouver's waterfront is a luxury hotel which offers an amazing view of Coal Harbour and the Coastal Mountains.

We took a train ride from Seattle (USA) to Vancouver and the corner room offered to us at this hotel gave us a panoramic view of the Alaska cruise ships that berthed right under our hotel window. We also saw sea planes take off and land at regular intervals.

The horizon during sunrise was glorious. Watching the vast expanse of water from our room was very therapeutic.

The hotel offers good breakfast and the corner room we had was very spacious and comfortable.

When I raised a complaint on the hotel's internal survey (sent to me by email) about the slight mix-up in rates charged (between Canadian and US Dollars) the Manager called me the same day and refunded the extra amount that was taken on my credit card during check-in. Great Customer service!

This is a great hotel and we will certainly look for no other hotel when we visit Vancouver again.

Munir Daya

Room Tip: Take a high room facing Coal Harbour and the mountains across.

Stayed at The Pan Pacific Vancouver for a little reunion. 5 of us ladies shared 2 rooms which were beautiful and spacious. Beds are sooo comfortable. We had city view and it was very quiet. I've stayed there before with harbour/mountain view and I would highly recommend that as well! Make sure you use the pool/jacuzzi even if it's just for the outstanding view! Guest checkin and checkout was quick and easy! The staff go above and beyond! Really enjoyed our stay!

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful. Found it extremely quiet on city side, although have been on harbour side...

and just as uncomfortable. The cavernous lobby that is. Almost as cozy as a shopping mall. Rooms have the usual standard, boring hotel look, smell and feel, connected by dark, tunnel like hallways. Service is standard, prices are not. My room had black mold under the bath room counter. Views for the most part are nice. Location, unless you are a convention junkie is not. Too far from the center of the city where what little action Vancouver has, is.

This hotel is too far from the business center of town. The immediate neighborhood is made up mainly of half empty condo towers, which makes the area as lively as a city during a curfew. Long walks to half decent restaurants and clubs. If you want to catch one of those Cruise ships, if that is your thing, I guess it would be alright. I'd much rather be elsewhere for everything.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the 8th and 9th floors and city side any floor, if you must stay here.

We appreciate you taking the time to write a review on your recent stay.

It is unfortunate that our open atrium design and general decor was not to your liking and that you felt our downtown waterfront location was not central or convenient for your needs.

We have also forwarded your comments to our housekeeping management for their review and follow-up.

We do hope on your next visit to Vancouver, you will be able to explore the city and experience some of the local scenery and activities for which Vancouver and British Columbia are renowned.
