We spent 2 nights at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver prior to joining an Alaska cruise. The stay was excellent on every dimension. Check-in was quick, friendly, and courteous. Our 22nd floor room was very comfortable, and had a great harbor view. The bathroom was modern and clean. There are eccellent dining options at the hotel, but there are many others in short walking distance. The hotel towers above the cruise port so you can ride an elevator to cruise check-in.

There is not one negative thing I can say. Right from check in to the welcoming chocolates to check out. We will most definitely be back with bells on!!!!!!!!!! It was a beautiful room. Although we did not eat at the hotel, we did visit the Mahoney and sons pub. It was excellent. A little pricey but you are paying for location and view. We went to the eagles concert which was amazing also. All in all a FABULOUS night!

Stayed here for 2 nights prior to our cruise. Location perfect for embarkation, straight down the elevators and you're there!

As it was my birthday and we we celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, opted for a room with harbour/mountain view. Not disappointed, our room on the 20th floor gave us a wonderful panoramic view and we could watch the float planes taking off and landing plus the cruise ships coming and going.

Had to pay for Wifi which is disappointing given the cost of the hotel and did not eat in as there are many options just outside the hotel for meals.

Staff were helpful and friendly. The receptionist on arrival wished me happy birthday and happy anniversary! Enjoyed the slice of birthday cake in the room which was a nice touch.

As it's part of the convention centre outside can be very busy depending on what's on.

Would recommend for anyone wanting the simplest transfer to a cruise ship.

Booked a harbour view bedroom for our (husband and myself) 4-night stay and we certainly weren't disappointed. We arrived after our flight from the UK to be greeted by a friendly yet efficient receptionist who with a couple of minutes had us organised. I had taken advice from previous reviews and requested a room on one of the higher floors and we were give one on the 20th floor (room 2060). It was around 19.30 hrs and we opened the door to magnificent views of sea, mountains, peninsula and the most glorious sunset. To top it all a birthday cake (I had advised them it was my busband's 70th the same week) greeted us. The room was a very good size, the bed absolutely huge and very comfortable, bathroom with both shower and bath plus all the nice extras including iron and board. The daily cleaning and tidying was very good and when further tea and milk portions were requested there was no problem. We also found that there was no problem with noise from neighbouring rooms, however didn't know whether they were actually occupied. On leaving our checkout was quick, easy and painless. As we were going directly to our cruise ship it was just an elevator ride downstairs and we were into our boarding procedure. At the end of our cruise and on leaving the boat we had several hours to spare before our connecting flight. Where to leave our large suitcases. No problem, on discussion with Reception at Pan Pacific these were held securely for us. Oh and to cap it all the birthday cake tasted delicious. Brilliant all round!

Room Tip: Take a room from one of the higher floors- the views are exceptional!

We've stayed here twice before leaving for an Alaskan cruise. Clean, comfortable, great bedding and linens. Note: You don't need the "cruise package", just book a room (view rooms are worth the extra!) at the best rate you can. The benefit comes when you check out: Just call for a bellman to take your bags from the room. They will take them directly to the ship. All you need to do is bring your carry-on items. You take the elevator to the lobby, switch to the "lower level" elevator, and go down to the parking area -- from that elevator, it's a short walk to get in line for cruise check-in. Could not be easier! (Note: make sure your ship leaves from the Canada Place cruise terminal. There is another cruise terminal in Vancouver - Ballantyne, which is 30 minutes away, not accessible from the Pan Pacific.) As far as breakfast, there is a food court / shopping area just under the hotel; pick up a quick cheap breakfast there before you check out. That's all you need anyway, because soon you will be on board the ship, eating at the buffet!

This hotel is superbly situated if you are going on a cruise, as you can walk straight from the hotel to the cruise terminal, and a bell boy will take your luggage, so that the next time you see it will be in your cabin. Our bedroom was excellent, and the bed was very comfortable though why do these hotels give you quite so many pillows? However, we were disappointed by several aspects of the Pan Pacific. First, breakfast was disappointing and ridiculously expensive, especially when the Bellagio restaurant just across the road serves an excellent breakfast at a third of the price. Second, far too often there was only one person on duty at Reception, when there were several people waiting for attention. Third, the hotel starts on the third floor of a huge Conference Centre, with loads of people milling around on the first two floors - this doesn't give a very good first impression. And fourth, you are given the impression that you have to pay for internet connection, but if you look very carefully at the small print, you pay only if you want superfast downloading for videos, etc. For less speedy downloading, it is free, and we found the speed perfectly adequate for normal internet use, emailing, etc.
On the positive side, there is a lovely pool and terrace.
Vancouver is a beautiful city, but the Pan Pacific only real value lies in its location for those going on a cruise.

Room Tip: You have to pay quite a bit more for a sea view - probably not worth it

Pan Pacific was a great location from which to base our one night Vancouver stay before departing on a cruise to Alaska. Service was first class. Spend a few extra bucks for the corner King - these are very large and unique rooms with amazing views. If you are going on a cruise, the hotel sits directly on top of the cruise ship terminal. Walking distance to everything. Don't forget to try a Japadog, while wondering Vancouver's streets. I found this property to be a value compared to the surrounding hotels, but no compromise in location, amenities, or service.
