“Best Hotel Ever”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

A beautiful location, massive room, great winter feel and a good restaurant and bar. Hard to fault this hotel and was also very reasonable in price. What a shame that the male reception staff were surly and uncommunicative bordering on rude, otherwise would have been perfect.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your recent stay at the Pan Pacific Vancouver. It was a pleasure to read that you enjoyed our location, accommodation and ambiance of our restaurant and lobby bar.

We were disappointed that you found your reception experience less than welcoming. This is not reflective of our usual standards and we have passed on your comments to our Front Office Management Team for follow up. We apologize that this diminished an otherwise pleasant stay.

We do hope we will have the pleasure to welcome your back to the Pan Pacific Vancouver should your travels bring you back to British Columbia.

Have stayed at several places in Vancouver but I do like rooms with a view and the Pan Pacific must rate as one of the best. Booked a Pacific Club room on the 22nd floor with absolutely tremendous views of Stanley Park, Lions Gate Bridge, Float Plane terminal, Grouse and Cypress Mountains (when the fog was low). Room was very good ALTHOUGH the carpet could really do with a clean. Good facilities and a truly comfortable bed. The Pacific Club lounge is a lovely feature with free breakfast, Hors d'oeuvres in the evenibg and equally stupendous views. Nice pool on 8th floor for an evening swim outdoors with a hot tub and sauna. My Daughter had a great Spa treatment one morning.

I have to say dinner in the Pacific Cafe was OK (Vancouver Dine Out Menu) but the service was not too special and needs a bit more care. It made us to eat out elsewhere every other evening.

Would I stay again - most certainly - but like most things I do look at prices and there has to be a deal in order to stay here - the standard rate is a bit pricey.

My husband and I stayed at the Pan-Pacific in late October as part of a conference. Every convenience and amenity is available. We did not have a harbor view per se, we faced the city, but could see the harbor out our side windows. Plus the city view is very interesting also. I must comment on the outdoor pool. Canadians know how to do it. The air temp was in the 50's, and it rained constantly. But my morning swim in the outdoor pool was the highlight of the day. After a good workout at the gym I'd head for a swim. The pool is heated to probably 90 degrees F. After shivering up the wet steps to the pool, you can immerse instantly. Look up and see stars. Hear the gulls. Feel the gentle raindrops. Quite an interesting experience and very enjoyable.
A comment on conceirge services, which are top notch, but it will cost you a few dollars more to book through the conceirge rather than directly with the attraction (Capilano Bridge with bus ride). Either way, that trip was well worth it, but it would have cost a bit less if I'd just booked it at the bus when boarding.

It was a pleasure to read your comments regarding your October stay at the Pan Pacific Vancouver and we appreciate you taking the time to post your review.

We were delighted that you appreciated the view of Vancouver's historical Gastown district from your accommodation. The description of your experience in our facilities was a pleasure to read. Our outdoor saltwater swimming pool is enjoyed by guests year round - for many of the reasons you describe.

We hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to the Pan Pacific Vancouver.

Stayed two nights here as part of a conference and found the Pan Pacific to be Luxurious and beautiful. it is a little expensive but it feels very high end and it is an amazing location. Rooms are very nice with walls of windows that have great views of either the ocean harbour or of the city(both of which are beautiful). Amazing city amenities all around right within a short walk. This hotel really shows what the best of Vancouver is all about. If it is within your price range I recommend this hotel highly. All the staff are very high quality, although the front desk staff seem very business oriented. Can get wifi in your room at an affordable rate, and they are very quick to respond to any question or need. Would highly recommend this hotel for business or for special occasion stays. You will have no disappointments with this place!

We started our honeymoon by staying in Pan Pacific hotel in Vancouver. It was our first time in Canada and we enjoyed every minute of it. We planned a cruse to Alaska, so hotel was prefect for us, best location as all cruse ships leave from this hotel. After cruse we came back to hotel and stayed another 5 nights. Excellent food and service. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bathroom was a size of a room :) It has everything you need. We loved this hotel and if we ever again in Vancouver we will stay in Pan Pacific. Also if you want to fly to Victoria on a small plane, its only 5 minutes walk to the harbour.

Room Tip: Perfect location if you for a cruse as all cruse ships leave from this hotel.

Wow what can be said about this place. Amazing comes close.

The standard rooms rate as the best rooms I've ever stayed in. The pub has some great slection of local craft beers and amazing views of the harbour and the island.

The staff was very helpful and the prices weren't that bad for what you got.

Final Thoughts: I would most certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: I think probably all the rooms in the hotel are great. You will pay more for them but rooms on the o...

We spent a few nights at the beautiful Pan Pacific Vancouver at the beginning of our vacation. We were so looking forward to our time in Whistler and Tofino, and only thought of this as a stopover. We should never have under rated the experience of the Pan Pacific as it was so much nicer than the Fairmont Chateau in Whistler. The staff was very accommodating the room was gorgeous. We had a 17th floor corner king and it was amazing. The views were 180 degrees of both the bay and city The staff from reservations and throughout our stay were outstanding. All around a great experience and I'll be certain to return when we're next in Vancouver.

Room Tip: The view from the corner king was amazing.
