“Best in Town!”
Reviewed January 31, 2012

I've stayed at a lot of hotels while doing business and visiting family in my old hometown of Vancouver. I stayed at this luxury hotel with my daughter & a guest from NYC over the New Year's 2012 weekend. Pan Pacific's reservation clerk suggested a package that filled my wishlist at a discount & joining the hotel's Discovery program added extra perks. The views are incredible; panoramic & unobstructed. The rooms are spacious, truly clean & luxurious. Subtle side vents on the windows let in fresh air if desired & housekeeping changed the bedding from down to Dacron in minutes! It is heaven for people with allergies. It would be heavenly for anyone. I was very impressed by the perceptive, quick and courteous service by all members of the hotel staff -- particularly as they helped the younger members of the party (who didn't tip) on numerous occasions with the same excellent service. It was a busy time for the hotel, but service was fast, the rooms were quiet & the food was good. The hotel is perfectly located, close to walkways, shops, restaurants, attractions, transit, the Cruise ship terminal, etc. We had such a lovely time, it made me want to move there (& to write this review). Worth every penny.

Room Tip: Northwest-facing corner rooms have best views

Have stayed at the Pan Pacific previously and have dined in their restaurants and used the Spa services as well. I find the service in the hotel to be excellent but not quite as good in the restaurants. Spa Utopia is excellent with very consistent services. The location of this hotel is superb, right on the water with views of the North Shore mountains and Stanley Park. Within walking distance to most everything which is always a requirement for me when staying in a lively city. The temp control in the room was good and operated properly. The bathroom amenities good, the pool area is great and Spa Utopia in the hotel is excellent as well.
Vancouver is a fantastic city to visit and is only made better by an efficient airport and a lovely hotel!

This hotel is my favorite in Vancouver so far, and I've stayed at many. It's got a beautfiul view, many amenties, great location... and it's just so darn nice! The beds are comfortable, the staff is great, the pool is warm and in a great spot, and the rooms are really nice and quiet. And for what you get, the prices are reasonable. It's still my first choice when I want to treat myself and I have a little extra to spend. I've stayed here a couple of times but the last time was right after I got married and kidnapped my husband for a mini honeymoon.

Booked in to a club king room - club floors get use of the club lounge, includes nice breakfast, evening snacks and a drink each day.

Room was very clean, bed and linens were great. Nice sized room with a good view. Room had an idapt device charger, quite handy.

Location is good - on the waterfront close to Gastown. Access from stairs in the lobby to food court and Skytrain.

All in all a very pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Views from the upper rooms over the water on the north side have lovely views, can watch seaplanes t...

This hotel is very conveniently located - it is connected to the Vancouver Exposition Center, which makes it a wonderful find for business travelers. It tends to get very cold and windy in Vancouver in the winter, so the less outdoor walking - the better! The front desk staff didn't accommodate our request for an early check-in, and it was a very frustrating couple of hours fighting it out with them... since we had come in on a red-eye. The view from our room was rather disappointing (especially considering the price we paid). All we could see were some ugly roofs, and visitors of the hotel across the street swimming on the roof deck pool (even in these cold months).

Overall, this hotel is on the pricy side, and so are the restaurants inside. Another disappointing detail was the fact that you have to actually EXIT the hotel to get into the ATTACHED Starbucks... which makes absolutely no sense, especially if it is raining outside. They should make a hole in that wall, and just put a door it. Just a suggestion...

Thank you for taking time to post a review on Trip Advisor. We were pleased to see that you found our accommodation comfortable and our location convenient.

We were disappointed to read that, due to your early arrival, we were unable to accommodate your early check in. Although our check in time is 4pm, we do try to accommodate early arrivals whenever possible. As we may have had limited availability at this early hour, we may have only had a limited selection of guestrooms at the time of your arrival.

We agree it would be nice to have an indoor access to Starbucks for our guests, however, as Starbucks is located in a separate, but adjoining building, they have a dedicated street access point only. We are fortunate that there is a covered canopy to prevent guests from inclement weather.

We hope we will have another opportunity to welcome you back to the Pan Pacific Vancouver

The Pan Pacific really has it all!! I decided to do a staycation pamper weekend to celebrate my 50th Birthday. I checked into the Pan for two nights with my sister who came from out of town. The view from our floor to ceiling windows (20th floor) of the ocean & North shore mountains was breath taking. The spectacular view and beauty of Vancouver (my home city) was somewhat symbolic of the occasion - to appreciate all that is near & dear to me at this stage in my life.

If you can find a good deal during the off-season (mid Oct.-mid April) especially the Winter months, you really can get great bang for your buck.

The staff is so professional & friendly and really go the extra mile, the thick slice of birthday cake put in the room was a nice touch as was the upgrade to a higher floor deluxe room.

The hotel is in a perfect downtown location, next to the convention centre, about 3 blks west of Gastown, 5 blks NE from Robson, 2 short blks west of the Canada Line, Skytrain & Seabus Station.

If you come from YVR airport, take the Canada Line ($5 pp) to Terminus Station Waterfront (20 min.) exit on Cordova Street, go to your right 2 very short city blks & turn right at Howe Street, Canada Place Cruise Terminal & the Pan Pacific is right there. If you take a cab, it will take about 50 min. + (depending on traffic) and cost $40+. The train runs every few minutes from about 5am to 1am.

The Hotel itself is very elegant, and has a nice restaurant, lounge, high end shops and lots of meeting rooms. They put on a very good but pricey Sunday brunch in the Five Sails Restaurant and have a wonderful spa.

The rooms are spotless and tastefully decorated. They have extremely comfortable beds, nice bath products, bathrobes, spacious closet space and the bathrooms are a good size.

I loved the room & the hotel and felt totally pampered. Exactly how I wanted to celebrate my milestone birthday.

Room Tip: You can't find a much better view than from the North facing rooms, and they were extremely quie...
