“Meet and greet by one of Artist who created one of totem Pole”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013

As we were walking into Stanley park looking for Totem Pole area ( as Stanley park is a huge huge area to walk ).We asked someone the direction and that person not only showed the direction but also told us that one of Totem Pole in park was in memory of his mother Rose who died few years back and was one of last surviving member of Squamish Clan and original residents of that area. The person name Robert and he shown us photos of the Totem pole (made for his mother by him and others ) on his mobile .That chance meeting was the highlight of our visit to Totem poles area in Stanley which though highly publicized but are no match to Totem Poles all over Ketchikan Town in Alaska.Poles were good as our first lesson about what are Totem Poles and why they were created by different clan

“Nice but oversold”

The totem poles are quite pretty, look even better against a blue summer sky, even if all pictures are already on this site. Good photo stop if you are spending a day walking/cycling around Stanley Park, not really worth going out of the way.

“Not as good as the ones in Ketchikan”

Well, it's still quite a major attraction in Vancouver and Stanley Park itself. However, more often than not, it's crowded with tourists. The good thing is that there are bicycle lots for you park your bike before exploring this area. However, do note that there are fewer than 5 lots (if i'm not wrong). It's a short 10-20mins stop. No entrance fee required.

There's restrooms and a souvenir shop that sells totems & finger food.

Hope it helps

“Totem poles at Stanley Park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2013 via mobile

This is a neat spot to stop, view the totems and learn some First Nation history, as well as use the washroom and shop at the gift shop. The washrooms are clean, the gift shop has cold drinks and snacks. We enjoyed the photo spot as well as learning more history about the totem poles. Great break spot on the way around the park.

“Quick Stop”

Neat stop in the park. The totem's were unique. History is displayed well on the information signs. Try the lemon pound cake in the store close by, yummy!
