“The BEST by far”
Reviewed April 4, 2014

The Pacific Rim is the best because other hotels in the area talk about the best, the Rim provides the best. Exceptionally clean well appointed rooms with outstanding views of Vancouver and the harbor, bathrooms that are out of this world. Coffee, tea water and snacks, fast internet. large t.v. with beautiful sound system, all systems, lights, curtains, blinds are electronic, it's great. Three terrific restaurants.
The staff at this hotel are outstanding in every way, from the minute you arrive at the front door greeted by Patrick, the great staff at the front desk if you do not use the express check in. The staff at the concierge, again the best and very professional, the staff in all the the restaurant are wonderful, friendly and inviting. The Willow Stream again the best, all you need and more, in addition the outdoor pool and jacuzzi.
Folks I have had the pleasure of staying at the world's best hotels, Tower Bridge in London, The Breakers Hotel in Florida etc and I repeat the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel is "The BEST by far"

Our family decided to explore Vancouver on the way to Whistler this year. I can't recall exactly why we booked this hotel. Possibly Trip Advisor reviews.

We had an early flight into Vancouver, and while I was waiting, I received an invitation to check in online. I did that, and when we arrived at the hotel at 10:30 or so in the morning, our room was ready. This far exceeded our expectations, and we were grateful for the chance to settle in before starting our day. We got plenty of good recommendations about where to go and what to do.

We had booked a little suite, and the room was fantastic. Both the living room and the bedroom were super comfortable. The only drawback was that everything was exceptionally automated, and sometimes it was difficult to figure out how to do simple things like turning lights on and off or closing the drapes. The view was also terrific.

That evening, we used the hotel's shuttle service to be taken to our dinner a couple of miles away. The driver was very friendly and helpful, as was everyone at the hotel.

The breakfast buffet in the morning was delightfully delicious and innovative, not just the usual suspects. They offered home-made clamato juice and the lightest cream puffs ever. There were artisanal smoked meats as well as really nice salmon.

All-in-all, this stay felt like a real vacation and a quite decent value.

Sunday night normally finds me at home with a roast dinner. Last Sunday I had to be in Vancouver. Booked the Pacific Rim because of the view. Ask for a view room and this is what I got. Everything was first class. The coffee machine was excellent. One quick espresso and the whole room had the aroma of a coffee shop. The whole set up was first class. I especially liked the push button lights and drapes. Flawless wifi. I love working while over looking the mountains. Check the view out my window.

Room Tip: Try to get something on the 8th floor or above. You want to look North. Sunrise is spectacular.

I was just in Vancouver for one night and was so glad that I stayed here. It is in a great location within walking distance to Gastown, the Lookout and shops. The rooms are spacious and extremely well equipped. I loved watching the seaplanes land from my window. The staff were all extremely helpful and professional. The Oru restaurant is lovely and the food was excellent. We used the private dining room for our event which was perfect as the hotel gets rather lively on a Friday night! Saying that I loved the live music in the lobby.

I have stayed at the Pacific Rim 3 times on business since its opening but this past spring my wife Angela joined me for a special occasion + vacation. We stayed on the Gold floor and concierge Patricia and her team treated us very well indeed. This is an excellent hotel in every way --- location, service, comfort of rooms, breakfast, fitness studio, spa amenities and spa services. The lobby can be a bit buzzy but once in your room there is a real sense of tranquility and well being. If possible, face the harbor --- I'd often spend 20 or 30 minutes watching the float planes land and depart. In fact, our float plane to Nanaimo departed right across the street from the Fairmont --- and the bell team assured our luggage were safely delivered to the check-in counter.

As noted by others, the car service is a nice touch and of course borrow the bikes to tour Stanley Park and the seawall.

We'll be back.

John

This is a great place to stay in Vancouver and it is a possible part of the Rocky Mountaineer trip if you choose so. I would recommend you do. Good service at various points. The breakfast buffet is very good. The location is perfect and great views. The room sizes are just right. All in all a place I would stay at again !

Room Tip: Ask for a bay view room !

I had the opportunity to stay at the Pan Pacific a couple of times and was blown away, not just by the luxury, but also by the service. Love the BMW courtesy car service to anywhere downtown...makes a country boy feel like a rockstar.
