“Great stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2014

Stayed here for 3 nights and received an upgrade without asking for it. Great location in Vancouver, just a couple of blocks away from the water, convention centre and shopping areas. The room itself was huge with modern amenities, a super comfortable king sized bed and a nice bathtub/shower. The food for room service was average and I wouldn't recommend the on-site restaurant. Check out was extremely efficient.

We were provided with an early check in which was greatly appreciated following a 14 hr flight from Sydney. Room was excellently presented. Not to fancy but appealing. Baby crib which was provided to us after check in was clean and in a "as new" condition. Spa is outdoors which is nice. Great experience for reasonable price.

Room Tip: Great view from room 2010

My husband took me for surgery stayed at the hotel, for a week. The best staff and bell hops. We were treated excellent in every way. The staff and house keepers were always there to help us in anyway we needed it. The rooms were very clean, the beds very comfortable and very quiet to stay in. I needed to have some pureed soup for my meals and the front desk staff went out of their way to get the cook in the resterant to make me the best pureed tomato kale soup thank you front end staff and the cook;] Thank you staff for the excellant service, great room and everything else, would stay there again with no problem. Great location

Room Tip: Stayed on every corner but if you want an ocean view nice rooms to ask for facing the mountains and...

I have stayed in 4 other hotels in Vancouver in the last 5 months and Coast was by far the better Hotel. It was clean and comfortable. I will make this my place to stay for my next visit. They treat to nice and were a pleasure to deal with.

Room Tip: Comfort Suite was just perfect for a business trip.

I was awakened early in the morning when the lady in the adjoining room started a conference call. I was surprised that I could hear her so plainly. She was not talking loud or yelling but I could hear every word she said. Then when I looked, I could see light coming from under the door that goes between two adjoining rooms. There should be no noise and light coming from under the adjoining room door! With a door sill and proper door sweep, this problem could be eliminated. My stay was good right up until 6:00am when her conference call started in the room next to me. I will choose not to stay here again so that I can avoid that risk of getting in one of their rooms with adjoining doors!

Room Tip: Do not get a room with an adjoining door to the next room.

When you've just driven 3 hours from seattle, first thing you want to do is kick back and relax in your hotel. Finding coastal coal harbor was quite easy....love the location in the heart of downtown vancouver. It is within walking distance from the harbor, if you're lucky you may even get a peak a boo view of the water and mountain! Do not be fooled by the simplistic and cozy lobby cuz once in the room you will be astonished at the size and modern decor.

Parking was not a problem as we had arrived past 6 PM and there was plenty of street parking.....If not there is a reasonably priced underground parking below the Marriott which beats the crazy meters!
We were able to take full advantage of the pool when other guests had left....The pool "boy" was kind enough to let us stay longer as there were kids with us which was a great perk to have. There were so many eateries around the hotel that we didn't even bother with the hotel restaurant. Any sushi restaurant within downtown are a must!!

Al in all a wonderful hotel that I highly recommend for location and service.

Finding a good quality value-priced hotel in downtown Vancouver can be difficult. The Coast Coal Harbour has excellent mid-week rates that often come with free valet parking or free breakfast. I recommend the free parking as regular parking lot 24-hour rates can run well north of $20 (more if you need to leave and come back)...and you can get a breakfast sandwich for a lot less than that!

The hotel itself looks relatively new and the rooms in great shape. Location wise, it's a couple of blocks west of the commercial centre and nearest skytrain stations, but an easy walk.
