Stayed here for two days. Enjoyed the helpfull staff (left a photo camera in a cab, but the staff acted so quickly that we had it back in minutes, thanks again!!), spacious room with a ocean view and good beds , swimming pool, gym and free fast and reliable wireless internet. The hotel is close to the waterfront, Stanley park, shops and all other places that are of interest. We would certainly go back here.

Stayed here for a convention. The hotel was perfect. Very clean and modern. The Internet was awesome - wireless everywhere, very fast, and most importantly free. Couldn't have been better. My room had a good view of the harbor (at little obstructed but not too much). Eventhough I had a non-refundable reservation they agreed to reduce the number of days since I needed to go home early and refund my money. I very much appreciated this flexibility by the manager. He seemed great.

Newly (2009) built hotel, stylish, spacious rooms. The hotel is located centrally in downtown Vancouver, just some footsteps from harbour and marina and Robson Street (Shopping), Stanley Park and Gastown are also in walking distance.

This hotel had to be one of the friendliest and helpful hotels I have ever stayed in. The reception staff just couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our stay. We were given some great information and advice on which places to visit from personal experiences, and they certainly did get our approval. Jeramiah was a real gem, I bonded with him immediately; he gave us the thumbs up on Granville Island, which turned out to be just like a bohemian oasis in a sea of high rise buildings, wonderful, comfortable and well worth a visit.

We spent many a lovely evening in Prestons restaurant in the hotel, and we were surprised and pleased to see that they had Vindaloo curry on the menu.

Would definately recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for a night before leaving on a cruise. Wish we could have stayed longer. That bed was the perfect antidote for our east coast jet lag. Loved the blues and whites of the decor. Didn't get the chance to try out the pool or the amenities. The location was great for an early morning jog to Stanley Park. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful for recommendations of where to eat. Would stay here again if I return to Vancouver.

We stayed here for 2 nights in June 2011. We had a lot to pack in to our stay so we really appreciated the helpful front desk staff who ensured our room was available and organised tickets for the complimentary bus to the Capilano Suspension Bridge that was due to depart just 45 minutes after our arrival at the hotel.

Not sure when the hotel was built but the newness hasn't worn off. The rooms are very clean and furnished to a good standard.

Location is excellent - one street back from the harbour. At the 'better' end of town, close to the marina and handy for the shopping area. We found dining options nearby limited but enjoyed the food in the cafe at the supermarket opposite (strange I know but don't knock it until you've tried it!).

This was an encouraging start to our holiday in Canada as we had reservations with other hotels in this group during our stay.

This brand-new hotel was built for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. The staff are warm, welcoming, and attentive and the hotel has solved a problem I've been struggling with for years: what to do with the morning paper, water bottle or soda can I'd recycle at home? Every room has small bins for trash, recycling, and composting. But the Coast is not a crunchy hostel by any means: our room was gorgeous, with a large, sleek bathroom (shower, tub, and washroom conveniently divided for privacy, and with separate lighting systems so you don't need to light up the whole bathroom if you just want to use the washroom. Amenities were lovely, provided in large bottles to avoid small-bottle waste. The bed was soft, but firm. We arrived on a Tuesday afternoon in summer, and the staff upgraded us to a corner room with balcony. It rained a little during our stay, but if it had been sunny, we would have spent more time on the balcony. It wasn't luxurious, but it was comfortable and gave us a view uptown, towards Gastown. Granted, you're mostly looking at the windows of other high-rise hotels (and office buildings) but still fun to be outside. We did have a peekaboo view of the harbor. The hotel is centrally located in downtown Vancouver, a couple of blocks from the seawall, close to Stanley Park, and not too far from the West End. We used it as a base and walked everywhere. The restaurant is fine for breakfast, and Caffe d'Artignano is just up the street with excellent croissants, pastries, sandwiches and coffee. There's also a terrific drugstore -- much nicer than Americans are used to -- on a corner nearby. It stocks high-end cosmetics and a delicious line of organic cookies that you can't get in the U.S. My husband and I would definitely stay at the Coast Coal Harbour again for its great location, friendly staff, and eco-friendly conveniences.

Room Tip: Ask about the corner rooms.
