“Spicy noodles - better than all the others”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

There is an abundance of Chinese restaurants in Vancouver, and many noodle joints. Yet I am reluctant to recommend Peaceful because it just means longer lineups. At least they have opened a couple other locations now. If you like noodles, strong flavours, spicy food, reasonable prices, just try Peaceful. You will keep wanting to go back. It is that good. The original one is on Broadway, but now they have a store on 4th Ave in Kits, and one on East 5th, near Main.

“Best Chinese dishes ever”
Reviewed October 22, 2013 via mobile

This was quite simply the best Chinese food we have ever had. The crispy chili chicken was just the right amount of heat and flavor. We also had noddles with pork and seafood. Phenomenal. The texture of the hand pulled noodles is what you expect a noodle and fail to get anywhere else.

Try this place, you will not be disappointed.

“Mouth Watering”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

Wow and Wow! The food was to die for. We had the Peaceful House Roll, Dan Dan Noodles and Shitake Mushrooms and Bok Choy. Our first time there and can't wait to visit Vancouver again and get back here for a meal. The place was packed, and just by looking around everyone was enjoying their meals. We especially loved the mushrooms and bok choy, The garlicky sauce was delicious. We've told friends and family that they have to get a meal here. As said can't wait to get back for more delicious food.

“nothing special”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

I have been to this restaurant twice for lunch. The first time, the service was awful. We had to asked for the usual Chinese tea after waiting for about 10-15 minutes after being seated and given the menu. There were only two of us that time, so they wouldn't seat us at a new table: instead we were asked to share a table with another couple, who fortunately, turned out to be decent and quiet people. The second time the service was more satisfactory.
There is a lot of choices and variety available. If you are new, it's best to pick those dishes that are marked "recommended" such as the House fried noodle, the beef roll. etc. These are OK dishes to order. I also ordered the lamp stew with diced flat bread: this wasn't a good choice as there was way too much flat bread and too little lamb. The soup was tasty though.
The place totally lacks ambiance, it's almost always crowded. The food may be more typical of peasant fare. That's not to say it is inferior. If you want fine dining, go elsewhere. It can be considered Chinese comfort food. The pricing is attractive and I would place the tastiness of the dishes as average to above average.
I am prepared to return to try more dishes, preferably for dinner, next time to try more items.

“Lived up to the hype”
Reviewed October 10, 2013 via mobile

We went here after seeing it on DDD and I have to say it completely lived up to the hype. The meal was delicious and we were surprised at how cheap the meal was. We got the beef roll, which was fantastic, the pork dumplings which were also really good and the beef and broccoli with noodles. Everything was really, really good.

The food came out quick and service was really good. We had to share a 4 person table with someone else but it wasn't awkward at all. There's not a lot of room so I totally understand why they do that.

Overall probably the best place we have eaten at in Vancouver!!
