Description: We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly to sushi enhances the natural flavours and textures of the fish, creating a new and exciting culinary experience. Miku owner Seigo Nakamura innovated the Aburi concept by crafting specialty sauces using non-traditional Japanese ingredients to pair with each type of fish. The light sear from the binchotan (Japanese bamboo charcoal) caramelizes the sauce, releasing a smoky aroma and bringing out the finest flavours in each piece of Aburi sushi. Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Fly Over Canada, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus.

Have been to Miku a number of times and have had great meals every time. They recently moved to their new location on the waterfront and I really like the space, including the koi motifs on the ceilings.. very kewl. Also kewl, is their menu. It has your clasic Japanese fare but they have brought in other influences into the menu. Recently had the Shabu Shabu, which was good although they should charge a little more and serve it with Kobe or Wagyu beef. Delicious and fun regardless. Recomend this place for a group outing with friends.

This Japanese restaurant specializes in aburi (seared on the outside while raw inside). There we visit to have some great ice cream as ice cream is the only dish in the world that everyone is fond off. We ordered our ice cream and enjoyed their Japanese atmosphere, which is really the impression of Japanese tradition and culture. When they bring our ice cream, we are just cheered up like a kid and astonished by the way they present ice cream in front of us. Ice cream is yummy…. we did not taste this kind of ice cream ever before in our life. Apart from ice cream, this restaurant is also famous for sushi, seafood, cocktail, wine, spicy food and steak. People around us are enjoying their food as well. Our stomach is full otherwise; we will definitely try their tempting food. If you are in Vancouver or soon visiting there, do not miss to try food as well as ice cream there. You will never regret if you visit there.

My wife and I tried this place while visiting Vancouver after finding it on tripadvisor. Glad me came here and it was so conveniently located right next to our hotel at the Pan Pacific. When we went the place was packed and very NOISY. We had a difficult time just hearing us talk, but I do like a place that is happening rather than the opposite where we are the only people there. It also goes to say that the restaurant is liked by many which I consider a good sign. We reserved the omakase dinner for the both of us the the meal was delicious. A variety of food came out including different types of sushi including their signature aburi sushi. It was a delectable take on serving sushi and I thoroughly enjoyed.

I recommend you come visit this place and get the omakase dinner. Be sure to reserve not only your spot but also the omakase dinner as they need to prepare for this feast. You will not be disappointed. The place is not cheap so expect to shell out some dough for this place.

I'm not a connoisseur of Japanese food, but my meal at Miku was better than any sushi I've eaten. We were warmly welcomed by several staff members as we arrived and were shown to our table. The knowledgeable and friendly server described the various dishes and answered our questions about the menu. I ordered the "Zen" lunch, which consisted of four items from the regular menu plus six pieces of house specialty sushi. The flavours and presentation were amazing: seared tuna, tender salmon, prawns, melt-in-your-mouth braised short rib, all with delicious hits of various sauces and condiments. Add the magnificent view of the harbour and mountains and you have an experience to be repeated as often as possible.

This restaurant was booked based on previous t/a reviews for my husbands 50th. They were very accommodating when making the reservation from Australia and were even able to bake a lactose free birthday cake for a small fee. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was buzzing and the view from our table, pretty. The restaurant, being very popular was very noisy and although the service was a bit hit and miss, was otherwise very good.
