Description: We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly to sushi enhances the natural flavours and textures of the fish, creating a new and exciting culinary experience. Miku owner Seigo Nakamura innovated the Aburi concept by crafting specialty sauces using non-traditional Japanese ingredients to pair with each type of fish. The light sear from the binchotan (Japanese bamboo charcoal) caramelizes the sauce, releasing a smoky aroma and bringing out the finest flavours in each piece of Aburi sushi. Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Fly Over Canada, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus.

Beautiful location overlooking the harbor - the outdoor patio was perfect for a warm summer evening. Our waitress was very knowledgable and seemed anxious to answer all of our questions. The food & saki selection was outstanding

This restaurant is excellent!
Atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Explanation provided about every food that you have. We try shabu shabu. It was fun, to cook your meat in a boiling broth.
Rolls were very tender and tasty served without soy souse.
Sitting outside is casual on sofa with pillow and heating.
Scallops were so fresh and so wonderful.
Seaweed salad was great, although I was expecting more see weeds in the mix of sea and land herbs.
Definitely will be back if visit Vancouver again.

It's the new fusion type sushi place. You cannot find the normal sashimi or sushi here; in fact, they don't even provide soy sauce. Everything (sushi wise) is pre-made, with sauce. It may be strange for some true sushi lovers. So you are looking for a "sushi" sushi place, you will get disappointed. But on the other hand, its food is acutally very food. We tried the shabu shabu and some sushi/rolls. And we loved all of them.
The service is very good too; the staffs are very knowledge of the food and wine, and love to share their favorits with you. Will defintely recommend this pace for anyone who loves to try something new!

I consider myself a sushi snob and have had a lot of high end experiences. This is the top of the tops. As other reviewers have mentioned, it isn't traditional sushi that you dip in soy sauce. You don't need the soy sauce as they add their own sauces and prepare a unique style of sushi preparation for each dish. Everything we tried had amazing texture and tastes that unfolded on your taste buds with each chew. Our eyes were so big as we were chewing because the tastes were so amazing. Very clean and excellent service, views. We had Christina and she had awesome suggestions. Our bill with tip for 2 people and 2 rounds of sake each was about $200. We went here 2x in 4 days.

Great authentic Japanese fair but don't expect sushi. This is high end delciate and ecletic food that trully tantalizes the taste buds. Not cheap but delicious! Come and enjoy the view (new waterfront location) and the food...
