Description: We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly to sushi enhances the natural flavours and textures of the fish, creating a new and exciting culinary experience. Miku owner Seigo Nakamura innovated the Aburi concept by crafting specialty sauces using non-traditional Japanese ingredients to pair with each type of fish. The light sear from the binchotan (Japanese bamboo charcoal) caramelizes the sauce, releasing a smoky aroma and bringing out the finest flavours in each piece of Aburi sushi. Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Fly Over Canada, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus.

Loud inside but nice on the patio. Food and service were good.

Yes, I said it. The best sushi ever, no joke. I first went to MIKU about a year and a half ago and I go at least once, every time I am in town. The sushi is amazing. Really fresh, high-quality ingredients and beautiful presentation. The highlight is the aburi sushi. Basically a pressed roll that gets seared with a bit of charcoal, giving it amazing flavor.

I cannot say how much I love the food here and the staff is awesome!

This should not be considered a sushi house much like Picasso was not just a painter. This is a world class Japanese restaurant where there are no condiments like soy sauce on the table because every piece of sushi or sashimi is served and presented with condiments ideally suited for texture and flavor. The food melts in your mouth like no other I've eaten, even in Japan on expense accounts. The different flavors are clean, expressive, and mouth-watering. Desserts are unusual and delicious and some of the entrees are successfully adventuresome and novel. Will probably run $50 per person for a full meal. Location is convenient to downtown and we walked from the Hyatt. The staff is very knowledgable and the service is polite and responsive. Clearly a keeper.

This chef is a genius at turning good traditional foods into something exquisite. The sushi came in squares that melted in your mouth. I did not believe that I would like a green tea cream opera cake, but it was fantastic. It was our final nite in Vancouver. I wish we had discovered it sooner.

Where do you go if you want a trendy spot, good sushi / service in the financial district in Vancouver? Miku~!

This place is great in all areas from food to service and have the prices to match it. It's not a place to go if you're on a budget, but it is a good spot that has energy and a modern feel.

Check it out if you want splurge a bit, you won't leave disappointed!
