I have long wanted to go whale watching, so whilst visiting Vancouver, my wife and I booked a trip with Prince of Whales.

Booking the trip was easy as the website was easy to navigate on my phone. The instructions on where to meet and at what time were easy to follow.

Thanks to an extremely knowledgeable and experienced crew, we were able to see killer whales, humpbacks and other wildlife.

The trip was both fun and educational thanks to Wilma and the rest of the crew, who all went out of their way to give us an unforgettable time watching these magnificent creatures.

We looked at a number of companies online but were so happy we made the right choice in the end to go with Prince of Whales. Special mention to Ocean, Mac, Pascale and Anthony. Ocean was just awesome with her stories of deep sea fishing and all her experience at sea. All of them did their upmost to make the trip a successful one. We really recommend doing this trip as you get to see the whales and it is a really useful way to reach Vancouver avoiding the ferry fee. We went on this trip on the 12th of September and have been meaning to write a review ever since, sorry for the delay as you were all brilliant. Pascal also sends you professional images which helps as it is really hard to capture the orcas on camera otherwise. As soon a I saw the orcas (which was on the final leg to Vancouver) I was so emotional and overwhelmed to see them in the wild. People should go in with expectations that you cannot go very close to the whales or orca as there are regulations for all boats, which is a good thing. Don't hesitate to book with this highly professional team.

We participated in the whale watching tour at the end of the season and had a great opportunity to observe humpback whales, bald eagles, dolphins, seals and sea lions. We were concerned about difficulty finding the whales this time of year, but they were there and came close enough to the boat for us to observe them. The views of Vancouver are also gorgeous from the boat. The boat had an open top area as well as a covered inner area for passengers and they accept up to 75 passengers per trip. While the weather was starting to get cool as our tour was at the end of October, the crew provided blankets and the sun was warm on our faces; we recommend wearing layers according to the season as it will be cooler on the boat than on land. The crew was knowledgeable and courteous, and answered all questions. There was a restroom on the boat and a small snack bar. While there were many crew in different sections of the boat, they did not use a microphone system, so hearing the crew in some locations on the boat could be a challenge for someone with hearing impairment. Recommend discussing with the crew prior to departure as they were very accommodating.

This was a very good experience and I can highly recommend this company! Booking was easy and checking in was a breeze too. Once we got on board, we were well briefed by the crew - in our case, our guide was Wilma. We were told exactly what we could and could not do and besides finding whales, it was clear that safety and our well-being were of paramount importance. It was pretty choppy getting across the Strait of Georgia but was worth it as we got to see three whales in all their majesty - what a great experience! Aaron was our very able captain and our guide, Wilma, was not only very knowledgeable but passionate about what she did. Snacks are available for sale at reasonable prices and very welcome tea, coffee and hot chocolate are provided complimentary.

Almost the last day of the season's trips saw us out on the water with nearly 50 others on a glorious early November afternoon.
The trip was brilliantly conducted for us (on the open top deck) by Wilma, whose knowledge of all things 'whales' and other marine life was exceptional.
5 hours, three humpback whales, several bald eagles and many Steller sea lions later we docked back in Vancouver substantially wiser and enriched by the experience.
A must on everyone's bucket list and a perfect way to experience it with 'Prince of Whales'.
