We booked a get away package with breakfast and parking included. Staff were very helpful, very professional, and happy we were at their hotel. Yes, we were upgraded to a beautiful suite, but regardless, we were treated like 5 star guests in a 5 star hotel. Room...awesome...the famous mirror TV did not work (battery dead) and we were greeted with a welcome note and fruit thing for some doctor who obviously couldn't make it. Undeniably the best hotel stay of our lives... Breakfast was fabulous and location was perfect for exploring downtown. Price for what we got...excellent. Yes we checked in underground and did wait 10 minutes for checkout...line up...but the stay and experience will bring us back.

As I flew into Vancouver, all I had in hand was a map to find the Shangri-La Hotel. I was traveling on business and the reservation had been arranged for me. To be honest, I had never heard of the Shangri-La. Upon arrival I was immediately impressed with the genuine feeling of "Welcome" by all staff. Once inside the hotel there is a feeling of calmness that comes, almost instantly as the staff warmly greets you and offers their help. The room decor is classic, simple and warm. The almost "unseen" staff work very diligently to keep your room tidy and clean. The food served was always of the highest quality, fresh and pleasing. I highly recommend the Shangri-La Vancouver as it would be such an enjoyable experience not soon forgotten.

My family and I stayed here for several nights. The hotel was wonderful! The service was exemplary. The wait staff in the restaurant were very accommodating to my children's dietary needs and the food was excellent. I did visit the spa as well which was also a great experience. The hotel is close to the beautiful Stanley Park and shopping destinations are also very convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Shangri-la for a night with our 10 month old son. The staff were accomdating in providing us with a microwave int he room and cleaning our the mini-bar so we could store his food in there, The room was very elegant and nice, the bathroom was great and the electirc mirror with the built-in TV was a nice novelty The 50inch TV in the room were actually a little too big for the room. The overall process of checkin was very efficient and it was nice to see the small touches they had in the room like the fruits and cookies in the room, the master switch to trun off the lights, the torch light in the night stand, charging station built into the desk and the ample number of open plugs. The amenties provided in the bath room were also were thoughtful - they had touthbrush, shaving razor, bath tub salts etc. The location was great and the breakfast at the MARKET was very good.
Some of the things that i felt lacking were the confusing building access, the bathtub and toilet were a little dirty, the room service was slow and forgot to bring things when e requested them. Some of the staff were new to the hotel and the country itself and had a hard time communicating and understanding. The fitness room was very mediocore for this being a 5 star hotel.

Stayed 2 nights and negotiated a half day rate for a late checkout as we had an evening flight...conciege was fantastic and handled every request well...similarly housekeeping was great..more tea, smaller slippers, more lotion...all no problem.a few teething problems...our eggs the first morning had been either overcooked or left under the warmer a bit too long, no one likes rubbery poached eggs so ordered them fried the next morning...in the room a few design glitches reading lights for two beds were cross wired, could not view bathroom tv from bath as the angles were wrong and few hooks to hand towels etc...but overall a plush, luxurious experience and at the rate we paid, including breakfast very good value
