“Friendly hotel, good location”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

We stayed at L'Hermitage Hotel twice during our three week holiday in Canada, and each time found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We stayed in a one bedroom signature suite which was very comfortable and had a full kitchen with everything you could possibly need including washing machine and drier. The lounge area had a comfortable sofa and a glass panelled living flame fire .the bedroom was well equipped it had an additional TV and the bed was very comfortable. On ou second stay, we arrived early in the morning, our room was not ready so the front desk gave us access to the Orangerie on the fifth floor, and we were given complimentary coffee. On check out we had a late flight so, again had the use of the lounge. The downtown location was perfect for Robson Street shopping, end of block, and within easy walking to the trolley stop.
The hotel ticked all the boxes and ,if you want to self cater, there is even a really good supermarket less than 100 yards away.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Would recommend the suites

Three of us went up from Seattle for our Bon Jovi. I chose L'Hermitage because of reviews on trip advisor. We stayed in the two bed two bath suite and loved it. It has plenty of room with everything you need and more! Very clean and tidy. Beds were comfy too. To bad it was raining we had a beautiful deck outside from the living area with two lounge chairs and a large table overlooking the pool area. Close to Rodgers stadium so that we could walk. Staff was very nice and helpful. Next time I won't have to look for a place I will book with L'Hermitage for sure!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 701. It was right as you stepped off the elevator. I believe it was a corner room.

We were recommended this hotel by a resident of Vancouver. She knew what she was talking about. This is an excellent hotel in a very good position. It is part of a residential block but you would not know it. Our suite was very comfortable with the good facilities you would expect from a 5* star hotel and, unlike greedy US hotels, includes free Wi-Fi. The staff could not have been more helpful and actually enjoyed being of assistance. Well done to all the staff.

I was skeptical at first, but now I understand why this hotel is so highly ranked. This is really my first experience with a 'boutique' type hotel but now I see what the attraction is. The service is impeccable from the moment you step onto the sidewalk outside their doors. We arrived early with the intent on dropping our bags off and then heading out to explore the city. (by the way, we used the Canada Line Rail System from the airport to the Vancouver Downtown stop, from that stop it is less than a 10 minute walk to the hotel). When we arrived we were greeted by the hotel manager who told us that they didn't have a room yet but that we could relax in the lounge on the 5th floor. We went up where the staff had been told that we were on the way and greeted us at the door. We were offered some refreshments and it gave us an opportunity to relax and gather our plans for the day. We dropped off our bags and were asked for a contact phone number for when our room was ready. We went out for lunch and shortly after got a phone call saying our room was ready for us. We took our time getting back but still ended up getting into our room around 3. The manager had made sure we were well treated and left us a lovely note. Throughout our short stay, we noticed how friendly the staff were and how they really ensured that we had everything that we needed. The rooms (we were in a suite) are clean, comfortable, and well equipped (kitchen had everything you would need to cook for yourself if you wanted to). The beds are unbelievably comfortable with high quality bedding, pillows etc, you can tell that they put pride into this hotel. The hotel is very well located, there's lots of things to take in just in the few blocks around the hotel. We even walked to Granville Island (~30mins). They also have some decent bicycles for guests to use for getting around. There's lots of good shopping and some great food in the area. Now that I've stayed there, I'm not sure that I can stay anywhere else. This will be my place of reference and benchmark for all other hotels!

Room Tip: There is some construction going on in front of the building right now that could be noisy for some...

This small "boutique" hotel was exceptional in every way. We felt like we were guests in their home rather than in a hotel. The staff were constantly asking if there was anything we needed. They anticipated our needs for towels, toiletries, coffee, tea. Right after we checked in, someone knocked on our door to see if we needed any more towels or toiletries or coffee, etc. The room was wonderfully equipped to begin with. After the concierge made a restaurant reservation for us, they delivered a formal personalized note to our room confirming the reservation and all the details in writing. The rooms were very clean and well-appointed and roomy. The granite and glass and tile floors were beautiful.

Upgraded to a Boutique King Room from our reserved Mini Boutique, which was a nice start after a long flight. The room was stylishly furnished with a well laid out bathroom. The hotel is nicely located downtown for most of the major tourist attractions we wanted to visit during our four night stay. The buffet breakfast ,for which you have to pay, is excellent - delicious scrambled egg and streaky bacon were much enjoyed. But what makes the hotel is the attention to detail and the fantastic staff and the service levels. It starts when Al,the doorman, greets you and assists you with your luggage with a smile & a word or two.To the polite, professional but friendly check-in.To the service at breakfast -it was fascinating to watch the meticulous way the Asian staff laid out things, a real pride in their job.Everything was perfect and added another dimension to our Vancouver visit. A lovely hotel and a lovely experience.

I stayed in a 1 bedroom signature suite which was extremely well appointed with everything that was needed for a 1 week stay. Vancouver was having a hot spell during my visit and I'm pleased to say that they a/c was excellent. The pool was also a welcome relief during the late afternoon.

My suite was facing the construction sites however the noise did not prove to be a problem. I have attached photos of the construction which shows that this will be an ongoing project of some duration, however please don't let this stop you making a booking here.

The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Bathroom provided a bath and seperate shower.

The hotel is well located near shops, cafes, public transport. There is also a supermarket with ATM just around the corner.

I did not make any particular requests of the staff or use the concierge, however all staff appeared to be very friendly and helpful.
