“Excellent place for a weekend away”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 15, 2012

L'Hermitage was a an excellent choice for a girls weekend away. We were upgraded to a suite which was unexpected and very appreciated. The room was beautiful and easily accomodated three adults. The attention to detail was superb. The staff was attentive and very helpful. Jennifer at the concierge went above and beyond and even helped organize a night in with food delivered to our room. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a weekend away.

I recently spent the weekend here with 3 other girls for a family wedding. Booked the signature den and would do it again. Its nice to have 2 good sized bathrooms to do hair for 4! The bed was confortable, the pull out couch not so much and the room is really cramped when its opened up, but its doable.
Loved the full kitchen and bar for eating. There is a great market that is open late on the corner of Robson and Richards Streets. Saved alot of money buying groceries, Thai food, wraps, sushi, gluten free and many vegetarian choices. There is a Starbucks across the street from the market and a liquor store in the same block. Almost anything you need is walkable. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Wouldn't hestitate to come back!

Room Tip: We were not bothered by the construction across the street, as we are early risers anyway.

This hotel was easily the best place we stayed in during our time travelling across West Canada. To our surprise, when we arrived we were upgraded to a suite - which was far beyond our expectations. The staff were very polite, courteous and helpful with ideas of things to do, and knowledge of local bus services. We also tried the restaurant next door one night, which again we really enjoyed. The hotel is in a helpful central location, and it is easy to walk to the main areas of downtown Vancouver. I would like to return to Vancouver, and if I do I will not be staying anywhere else!

L'Hermitage is everything a Hotel should be, and then some. The staff is friendly and helpful; everyone--the housecleaning staff, the breakfast/sitting room staff, the desk staff, the doorkeepers, etc.--is sincerely courteous and friendly. The Concierge(s) are very knowledgeable about Vancouver, and make a concerted effort to assist you in whatever way they can. However the rest of our trip may be like, we are always confident that our stay at L'Hermitage will be comfortable, relaxing, and totally worry free.

Based on the previous reviews, we we're expecting to enjoy our stay, however we weren't expecting to be treated like royalty! It was my husband's birthday and they added some unexpected special touches and upgrades that really made us feel pampered. Our 5 year old daughter was with us and they treated her like a princess during our meals and throughout our stay. We made good use of the heated pool and jacuzzi even though it was near freezing outside. The concierges were excellent. Normally we like to discover things on our own and are leery of advice given by hotel staff (usually there's a motive or kickback involved), but not with these guys. They know their stuff and don't suck you into tourist traps and generic restaurants. Our room was not facing the construction and fortunately it was a holiday/weekend so there was no noise. Hard to tell how much of a nuisance it would have been during the week. The project is a big one and not close to being finished -- so if you're worried about noise, you should call and ask about the construction schedule and/or for a room on the opposite side. We found the location to be ideal and the package that included breakfast and parking was really handy. There's a marketplace IGA adjacent to it, which is handy if you have a room with the kitchen. We will definitely return and recommend this place to our friends and family. In our opinion, there's no need to look further!

Room Tip: Due to the telus garden construction, opt for room on the opposite side (facing the westin).
