“Chicken Shawarma to Die For!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2012

The chicken shawarma. Great taste, huge portion and reasonably priced. The falafel is not bad either. Their dining lobby is small with a few bar stools but buy their food to go because you shouldn't miss it!

“Yummy Shawarma”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2012

My teenage son and daughter always want to stop at the Babylon Cafe on Denman Street whenever travel to Vancouver, from the burbs, to bicycle or walk through nearby Stanley Park. This restaurant has a loyal following drawn by the generous portions of tasty Middle Eastern Food. Atmosphere is definitely hole in the wall, with character.

“Good.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2012

I chose to eat here after reading good reviews. While the little hole-in-the wall restaurant offers a yummy chicken schwarma and tasty falafel, I didn't think it was anything to write home about.
They did cook me up fresh falafel when I arrived. There seemed to be some tension between who I assume is owner and a new staff member. This kind of made me uncomfortable. Also, the few patons there also seemed tense-maybe because of the atmosphere?
I can't complain about the food or the price-both are very reasonable. Friendly for the most part, just a bit awkward because of impatience with trainee.

“Best Shawarma!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2012

I almost usually get 2. 1 for now and 1 for later. The long lineup is what tipped us off about this hole in the wall that you'd normally walk right past. A lineup is most definaltly the #1 indicator of must have food. The folks that work there and run it are awesome…always bickering and yelling at each other…but they're not angry, it's just how they communicate, very comical. Seriously though, get a Shawarma from there

“never disappointed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2011

Now the main restaurant has closed you need to head to 1610 Robson Street. You can sit down here and enjoy a great shawerma. The platter offers great value and is incredibly filling.
This is a basic place which does amazing food. I am so glad i was not put off by the looks but instead trusted the crowd outside. They were not wrong and i eat there on every visit to YVR.
