Don't judge a book by its cover! This restaurant was recommend by locals, the exterior wasn't as polished as some others, but it was exceptional where it counts. The food and service was first class! We were a party of 6 (two children who are 8 & 11) and everyone loved their dish, so much so that we all wanted to share so that others would agree that theirs was the best! Aussies abroad!

We simply had a great meal here. The service was exceptional, friendly and laid back as you would expect in Tofino, but also attentive and really top rate. I initially thought that the food would be average at best, but the quality of ingredients and preparation was really very nice. The meal wasn't any pricier than I would expect from a very good restaurant at home, which is often not the case at tourist destinations such as Tofino, where your choices are more limited.

The cioppino was chock full of tasty bits, but lacked the same sauciness that you would find in a preparation on the Italian Riviera. The blackened halibut (substituting for Red Snapper) was also nicely prepared and expertly presented. However, it did lack the fire I anticipated and would have preferred it had. Overall though, we were very pleased with our meal at The Schooner and would definitely go back to try other dishes.

What a night! The food was incredible. We both had seafood and it was beyond good! The server was very friendly and didn't keep us waiting, never interrupted, seemed to come by our table at just the right time. Will be back!

The waiter was terrific and the food even better....best salmon of our 5 day trip! The last experience here was a few years back and not one I would wish to repeat but my mother insisted that she had enjoyed it so much on a previous visit with my dad that we had to go. I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised!
