There can seldom be anything wrong with beaches. We surfed here end of July 2017 and it's a long beach with multiple surfing companies conducting lessons simultaneously. There's free parking in two lots adjacent to each other about 10 minutes walk from the beach. We entered through Maltby Road as directed by our surfing school. I know there is another entrance through Cox Bay Beach Road or something. Not sure if they lead to the same beach.

we had surf lessons here and then returned with rental surf boards and frisbees. Nice surf, beautiful beach. Worth staying on this beach !!

Cox bay is mainly a surfing beach as most of the surf schools go here to teach new people it also gets more experienced surfers since it's generally good surf there.
