Description: Surveying the panoramic vistas from the westernmost point of Tofino’s idyllic Chesterman Beach, The Pointe Restaurant’s Refined West Coast cuisine and attentive service come gift-wrapped with 240 degree views of the Pacific Ocean, surrounding islands and wildlife. Much of the fresh seafood is fished from the very waters overlooked by The Pointe, and a longstanding focus on locally sourced, high quality ingredients is evident. Dinner is offered on a seasonal à la carte menu, but for the best of the best, try Executive Chef Warren Barr's weekly tasting menu; Daily brunch is a true treat. Out of the ordinary desserts reflect an innovative Pastry program where most everything - from bread to butter to scrumptious chocolate croissants are housemade. An extensive wine list, recognized yearly by Wine Spectator magazine, showcases BC’s finest selections with a broad range of international bottlings. Over 100 Scotch Whiskies and a creative cocktail menu can be savoured in the comfortable On the Rocks Lounge. A true taste of Rustic Elegance On Nature’s Edge - and the West Coast’s best views - are on the menu at The Pointe Restaurant and On the Rocks Lounge.

This is a high quality restaurant and the prices reflect this, but the food is superb. The servers are well schooled and know what they are serving. This is sometimes slightly over the top, but the food is worthy.

These guys are pros. The food was full of different flavours. Interesting mixes. Odd combinations. Lots of eclectic choices. Not a lot of west coast more North American mix. Did onot see a lot of seafood choices on the menu. One salmon, one scallop maybe one other. Certainly nothing that stood out. We had a table of four and sampled the widest meal choices on the menu. Meats and Seafood. All were great. All got great reviews. Well worth the wait and money.
If you are not from the westcoast then not much can match either the restaurant or location. If you are from the westcoast then enjoy one of the best the coast has to offer. Well done.
Solid wine list, great choice and mix. If you are into the pairings routine you will be happy with this list.
We really enjoyed their Homemade Ginger Beer cocktails - unique and spectacular beverage.

We drove from Parksville just to try this restaurant after my wife saw it in the book "1000 places to go before you die". Fortunately, it lived up to the expectation. We had French Toast with candied bacon and apples along with shrimp Eggs Benedict at their Sunday brunch. The food was excellent and the views are absolutely amazing. They could have better coffee but that is a very minor blemish on an fantastic dining experience. Go if you get the opportunity!

We visited Tofino on our honeymoon, having been to BC several times before. Outside of Canada it's a little known secret that BC has some of the finest culinary adventures and freshest produce one can imagine. We had heard the Pointe offered one of the better dining experiences on the island and so booked in at short notice for an evening meal, which was readily accommodated.

The restaurant is subtly but exquisitely decorated with a jaw-dropping panoramic view of the open Pacific Ocean and the crashing waves and local wildlife that go with it. Cosy inside and decorated in West Coast cedarwood style, the Mark Hobson and First Nation artwork really sets the scene. The staff were attentive, unobtrusive and knowledgeable.

The food was incredible - truly incredible. For taste alone I would say this ranks as the best place I have eaten in the world; and I've traveled widely and tasted a lot! The chef has real talent, with inspiring creations and perfectly composed dishes. Two real highlights were a cold smoked char and local salad starter, and the dessert; a deconstructed cup of coffee basically which was a work of art.

The restaurant is more expensive than most but - maybe this is just coming from the UK - did not seem ridiculously expensive for the quality. Go here, be amazed.

Every year we look forward to lunch at the Pointe Restaurant. This year we were lucky enough to share it with our two grandchildren, who had never been to such a beautiful restaurant. The room is absolutely spectacular, as is the view. (We prefer going there for lunch as the view is lost once the sun sets.) And this year we thought the food was even better than it has been in the past. The chef is obviously a star! How can you comment on perfection? All the staff were attentive and lovely; we enjoyed our conversations with them. We suggest you give yourself a treat when you're in Tofino and get as much pleasure out of the Pointe Restaurant as we did.
