Much of the fresh seafood is fished from the very waters overlooked by The Pointe, and a longstanding focus on locally sourced, high quality ingredients is evident. Dinner is offered on a seasonal à la carte menu, but for the best of the best, try Executive Chef Warren Barr's weekly tasting menu; Daily brunch is a true treat. Out of the ordinary desserts reflect an innovative Pastry program where most everything - from bread to butter to scrumptious chocolate croissants are housemade. An extensive wine list, recognized yearly by Wine Spectator magazine, showcases BC’s finest selections with a broad range of international bottlings. Over 100 Scotch Whiskies and a creative cocktail menu can be savoured in the comfortable On the Rocks Lounge. Had been given a gift certificate to Wickaninnish and decided to use it for spa and restaurant. Spent an enjoyable evening dining and receiving service unlike any I have ever experienced. Must have had a least eight different people serving us, but never felt overwhelming or overbearing. Food wasn't as good as I was hoping for, as cost was astronomical $250 without wine, but was still very good. Probably wouldn't return, as although service was an experience in itself, I've had better food at other fine dining restaurants that aren't nearly as expensive.

Dear MusingMaven,
Thank you for posting a Review of your recent visit to The Pointe Restaurant and sharing your dining experience with our Trip Advisor online community.
We are delighted you enjoyed your evening and particularly appreciated the service provided by our team. We pride ourselves on our highly personalized and caring service, delivered by a team of individuals who are passionate in their commitment to delivering this incredible level of service to each and every guest of the Inn and The Pointe Restaurant.
We were, however, most disappointed to learn that the quality of food and value for price paid were not to your satisfaction. Our culinary team prides itself on providing world class cuisine utilizing the freshest, locally sourced food products available and hope that our guests deem the overall experience to be of good value. As well, many of our selections are house-made by our culinary and pastry teams on a daily basis, such as freshly baked bread, scrumptious pastries, butter, a variety of jams and a fresh juice of the day offering. We do monitor local and regional pricing and take that into account when considering our own pricing structure. Of course in addition to offering a full service dining experience, the spectacular views, along with the hand adzed beams, locally hand woven runners, bone china and solid wood tables also are factors in the ultimate cost as well.
As we believe our guests’ are the very best source of information for continual improvement, any additional suggestions you have which would enhance your feeling of value for price paid would be most welcome. Please feel free to contact us at 250-725-3100 or at info@wickinn.com if you have any additional information that you care to share with us.
On behalf of Charles McDiarmid and our entire Wickaninnish Inn team we thank you for your Review and sincerely hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to the Wickaninnish Inn and The Pointe Restaurant again!

My husband and I went on Saturday, having not been for a while. Don't want to make the extraordinary into ordinary by going too often. Everything was "spot on". A glass of Blue Mountain sparkling wine to start, panko muscle as an amouse bouche, followed by scallop and pork belly for my husband. I had their soup which was made with chicken, beef and pork (I think) broths with a piece of lamb in the centre - was to die for - was quite a large portion for an appie. Scallop and pork belly was also amazing. We then both had the Angus beef cheek - cooked to perfection - gooey, sticky, rich. We then shared churros which came with a spicy hot chocolate for dipping - gone in no time. Tremendous meal. Could not fault anything - service, food, setting. Will be going back more often, but not too often to not be a treat!

What can you say - a lounge/dining room built over the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean? We went in for appies and drinks to watch the evening light fade. It was amazing. Yes, it's expensive but some things in life just can't have a price tag attached to them and this is one of them. Next time we go, we're definitely going for dinner, regardless of what it costs. And seriously, if you're staying at the Pacific Rim anywhere you're not necessarily hoarding your money.

Great location, great service, great food. Dinner for 4. Appetizers all ranked top notch. Fresh bread and butter made in house. Fresh ingredients artfully put together. The only reason I gave this a 4 instead of 5, is that the Smoked Halibut main course had too much going on in the dish, and flavors were competing with each other instead of complimenting, but this is only my personal opinion. We enjoy fine dining, and the Pointe fills the bill. Yes it's expensive, but when you factor in the remote location, the excellent service and ammenities, it's not out of order.

I have eaten at the point a few times and I must say that I have never been disappointed. The view here is next to none, the service staff goes to great length to ensure you have the best possible experience and the food is amazing. The Pointe is one dining experience that I think everyone should try at least once.
