Our second visit here and the site we had was good. We only came a second time as the rest of the family were staying at Crystal Cove in an R V and they don't take tents there. B. P. is a short walk along the beach from C. C.
The showers were pretty grotty and could do with a big refurbishment, also the toilets.
The location is good, but there is a lot more they could do to improve the place considering how much they charge for camping.

Well...This is our third year at Bella Pacifica, and to be honest... It was great, as always! We still wish the sites were lIttle bigger, and maybe a little more private. It seems the manager has changed, however, still a lot of the same great faces behind the desk. Always lots of laughter and good information from the guys and girls there. Firewood, still a little damp, but, as to be expected as it is the 'wet coast'. Likewise, the weather can get a little wet, so bring rain gear. Rain or shine, the campground is right on Mackenzie beach which is great for swimming and checking out tide pools. The bathrooms on site are great, there are three stations that are kept clean and stocked. Yes there are showers, however, prepare to empty your change purse. 1$ for 2 minutes of hot water! Although the water was hot and refreshing. Overall, great staff, and an amazing location. I recently stumbled upon some 'not so great' reviews, so I felt I had to stand up for the campground. Awesome trip again, and we'll be back next year!

The campground location is fantastic as it's right by the beach and the amenities are good (although the women's washroom/shower was quite dirty most of the time). There is a big discrepancy in size between campsites so be careful which site you book.

BUT, on the first night of our stay, our campsite was robbed. About $2000 worth of goods were stolen from inside one of our tents while we were sleeping, including a camera, alcohol, a cooler, an axe, a camping stove, propane, and some other camping equipment. A couple of nights later, our friends in a nearby campsite also had items stolen from their site. When we reported this to the staff, they seemed quite indiferent and stated that this has happened before. And in fact, a couple of the staff members were seen suspiciously roaming by the campsites in the middle of the night, so perhaps there are some internal security issues. There was no security at the entrance either.

So, due to this lack of security, I cannot recommend this campsite.

Dear Joanna H,

Thank you for choosing to stay with us at Bella Pacific Campground. For over 20 years, our facilities have been renowned for our safety, cleanliness and great customer service to 10's of thousands of visitors each year.

Although instances of theft are very rare in relation to our property, we do take precautions - as you have noted - by having staff regularly & routinely patrol throughout our facilities to ensure our various policies are being adhered to for safety & security purposes, and as a deterrent to "crimes of opportunity".

Our staff work closely with local law enforcement for the protection and quiet enjoyment of our guests, and law enforcement regularly patrol the area. We encourage anyone who has experienced loss to report these instances to the Police.

We will continue to take precautions and provide training to staff in our continued effort to provide the highest standard of safety and enjoyment to our guests.

Thank you for your feedback,

Sincerely,

Management,

We arrived Thurs Aug 15, 2013 to find this great campsite and our site was a great location. Am entities were nice and clean and staff were friendly. We woke the next morning to find our cooler was stolen, value of approx $500 for cooler and contents, $600 camera, propane, axe, and many miscellaneous items. Our friends across the road also had some contents from their cooler stolen 2 nights later. We spoke to the staff at the check in facility and they seemed unconcerned and noted that it had also recently happened 5 nights before. Security is only beefed up on weekends and the entrance and exit are far apart and not monitored. After lots of review, we have a concern that the staff may be involved as prior to the thefts they strolled by our campsites a lot more than usual and would not be given a second glance by other campers.

My advice would be to definately watch your stuff even if you are close by.

Room Tip: Always lock your gear up and keep an eye out.

We had a very good experience at this campground. The beach was just steps away and we could hear the surf from out tent! Despite the millions of signs to not flush items in the toilet they were still constantly being plugged and the washrooms were down a lot for the reason. We brought our on firewood on the advisment of other reveiwes and suggest you do the same. The location of the campground was very close to town and to nearby service stations. We loved our site, it was very private and treed in the Tin Wis Loop

I have been coming to the Tofino/Ucluelet area my entire life and have stayed in many places including campgrounds, b&bs and resorts. Our experience this year at Bella Pacifica left me furious and frustrated with the ignorance displayed in such a precious environment. People come to this area to experience the amazing wildlife, beaches and forests and with that comes the responsibility to take care of that environment. While Bella Pacific preaches and reportedly enforces a no noise tolerance after certain hours, they are completely neglectful in even attempting to ensure "Bare Campsites". At the federal campground, Green Point, campers are expected to respect the rules and importance of the Bare Campsite Policy and failure to do so results in camping permits being taken away and in some cases fines being handed out. At Bella Pacific there is no mention of Bare Campsites and no staff walking around to ensure that garbage is cleaned up and not overflowing and that campers are being responsible for maintaining clean sites. We witnessed campers pouring leftover porridge in the bush beside their tent, over flowing garbage dumpsters and food waste at the water taps. When we arrived at our campsite our site was filthy with food waste. We had to clean it all up before we could set our tent up. After leaving a private campground in Parksville for 8 days (Park Sands), where maintenance staff were constantly cleaning and circulating from sun up to sun down, it was incredibly disappointing. We spoke with a Parks Canada employee about our concerns and asked if they have any jurisdiction over such matters and were disappointed to hear that they do not. The private campgrounds completely dismiss their concerns. I encourage you to stay at Green Point campground. The interpretive programs are fantastic, the washrooms have complete walls (not partial ones like Bella Pacifica), the sites are private and affordable and the staff cares about preserving the environment that you spent your time and money on coming to enjoy.

(Please note, I have waited a month since our visit to write this review in an attempt to settle down a little.)

Nice campground with awesome access and view of the ocean. Sites are small and close together. Expensive But it's tofino!
We didn't have a great stay mostly due to rain. The bathroom closest to us was shut down for a good 12 hours. Not sure if it opened that day because we decided to leave for more comfortable dry accommodations.
Would stay here again as long as its sunny weather!
