“Rustic affordability”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

Four of us stayed in the "lower studio" which has a queen bed and 2 day beds. It was a little crowded for 4 adults but it would be perfect for a couple or a small family. Although being set back from the beach, we had a great view and it was very cozy.

The cabin was clean and the kitchen has a full size fridge, stove, microwave, dishes, etc. We really enjoyed our stay and it was more reasonably priced than most cabins in Tofino, mainly because it is older and rustic but charming. We'd stay again.

Room Tip: On the website, the studio room is described as having a partial wall between the bedroom and living...

we just got back from a five day stay here in the Tofino area. We picked this spot because of other good family reviews here on Trip Advisor...and they were so right! we had a great time and this was the perfect spot for us.

The cabins are just the right size. They are nice and warm (if you want them to be), stylish, and right on a beautiful beach. You can explore tidal pools, play in the sand, roast marshmellows, chill, swim (if you don't mind chilly water), fly a kite, etc... great fun!

Our kids loved the salt water pool and hot tub (parents liked that too). They have laundry machines...good for washing endless water and sand covered clothes.
We didn't get a chance to do it...but lots of people were paddle boarding there in the cove.
When the tide is really low you can quickly walk out to the little island in the center of the beach and look at sea anemones, star fish, etc...

Tofino is a couple minute drive down the road (gorgeous)! There is this surf shop area across the road...great ice cream shop and small grocery store to pick up stuff like eggs, milk, etc...

We picked this spot because it looked like a family place where the kids would find other kids to play with and they did. They had a blast!
All and all a great spot....can't wait to go here again!

Our family spent 4 days here in summer 2013. The cottage-style apartments are small but very modern and well supplied with everything you need. We loved the quirky architecture. They are right on a beautiful beach and not too far from Tofino village. Perfect for enjoying this beautiful part of the world.

This was an exceptionally tranquil holiday for us with nothing but the beautiful beach and sea. The cabins are cosy and very well equipped. We appreciated the fireplace on the grey evenings. There were a lot of children here and I think the place is ideal for young families. If you are not so keen on kids, no worries. They go to bed early after exhausting themselves on the beach and the place is very quiet. Every cabin on the beach seemed to be situated in a way so that you didn't see anyone else and so you had the illusion of being all by yourself. Having said that, you are not all by yourself and the beach is busy all day and into the evening. Not a drawback for us but some may think so. I would come back here in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Getting the smaller cabin on the sea was my priority and I am very glad I did. Unbelievable views an...

Unique setting of 1bdr wood cabins with no TV, amazing laguna with endless sand and long stretch of grass for kids to play. We went to seek crabs, had a fire at night with marshmallows and watched an amazing sunset.
This place have in door pool which was a great escape for the kids before or after beach and different hikes.
Facility members are very nice and had their family members on site, which made it feel like a family resort.
Excellent BBQ stations enabled food to keep on coming.
Remember to bring mosquitoes protection as they attack non stop in the evening.....
On the improvement side, the beds could use an upgrade, and no housekeeping for 4 days is hard with small kids.

Real nice place right on the beach at a great price. No TV, no phone other than your own cellphone and a pay phone and that's perfect. Great place for wandering the perfect beach and close enough to Tofino to run in for a great meal. We rented wetsuits one day to play in the surf and scooters one other to go exploring. Very nice, we will be back.

As we finished our vacation and wanted 3 days of relaxation and rest, Ocean village was a suitable fit. We enjoyed the stunning views, beautiful sunsets, star fish, great family atmosphere and pleasant staff.
Our only complaint would be the lack of kitchen amenities in the cabin itself. There was very limited cutlery, dishes, cooking utensils and cookware, limited towels. Also, housekeeping was sporadic at best and unable to replenish towels or empty garbage unless requested. For the nightly rate paid more cabin amenities should be a priority.
That being said the property, the cabins, and the staff were exemplary.
