“A Short Walk through a Temperate Rain Forest to a Beautiful Beach”

Owner description: Considered by many to be one of the best boardwalk hikes around, you will be immersed in the natural serenity of the temperate rainforest. You can take the easy stairs to the beach, where you can gaze at the gentle waves crashing in. During low tide, an inviting passage presents itself so you can make your way to a small island where you may find bald eagles soaring above. Schooners Cove is nothing less than invigorating and rejuvinating. Truly a picturesque adventure.

“A Short Walk through a Temperate Rain Forest to a Beautiful Beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2014

It was so peaceful and quiet walking the 1km boardwalk from the car park to the beach, we could only be amazed by nature. There are a lot of stairs (up and down), but it is a relatively easy walk and you cross streams with fish and see uprooted trees and huge cedars and hemlocks.

The beach is quite amazing and although it is best to visit at low tide to be able to walk to an adjacent island, the view we had was wonderful.

Great atmosphere, good service and good food. All four of us had different meals but each one was presented well and delicious.

“Loved it!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2014

We hired bikes and cycled here from Toffino town. We stupidly brought the bikes with us through the trail not realising there were so many steps. None the less once we emerged onto the beach the whole trek was well worth it!

“STAIRS”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2014

This trail had a ton of stairs and we had an elderly couple with us. The stairs were nice and stable but being in a rain forest does make for some slippery conditions. Beautiful walk (just over 1km to the beach), and lovely cove - very picturesque.

“great beach slippery walk ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2014 via mobile

well worth the slippery walk. Dog only slipped off once. Lucky it was only a three foot drop and he is a big guy.
Beach is great, turn right once off trail. Low tide you can walk for miles. Just be careful with tides and winds on the way back
