Owner description: Considered by many to be one of the best boardwalk hikes around, you will be immersed in the natural serenity of the temperate rainforest. You can take the easy stairs to the beach, where you can gaze at the gentle waves crashing in. During low tide, an inviting passage presents itself so you can make your way to a small island where you may find bald eagles soaring above. Schooners Cove is nothing less than invigorating and rejuvinating. Truly a picturesque adventure.

“Great Trail!”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

If you park in the Schooner Cove parking lot, the trail to the beach is a bit of a hike if you are middle aged or senior. If you have bad knees or hips, the stairs (and there are many) may not be fun.
That said, it is stunning. Hints of old growth forest, enough to get a sense of what it was once like. Very impressive.

“A Walk Through the Forest”
Reviewed October 12, 2012

This was a really lovely walk through a rain forest where you end up at the ocean. Bring a picnic lunch. Not a difficult trek.

“The boardwalk trail was fantastic”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

Walking through the forest on the boardwalk trail felt like being in a fairyland...up and down sturdy but crickitty looking stairs through an old growth forest was amazing. Then coming out on a beach with clear pristine water. The highlight of our trip to Tofino.

My husband and I are in our sixties and had no problem with the almost two mile (round trip) hike.

“what an experience!”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

You have to see this when in tofino.
It`s a one km walk thru the forrest. The walk way is a wooden board walk , and it is so cool. (excellent for a good workout.)
Scooner Bay was very cool to see, fab beach and islands. you need the Pacific rim Park Pass to stop in the park ( for Long Beach too)
