The 2.5hr guided tour was amazing! Our guide Andy was very friendly and very knowledgeable. We saw the biggest whole rainbow of my life, then kayaked through rain and even hail. All within the 2.5hrs. Lots of wildlife spotted along the short trip, including otters, bald eagles, blue heron, jus to name a few. Highly recommended!!

“Time of my life!!”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

There are plenty of sea kayak places to choice from in Tofino, and I was lucky to wander into this gem! The customer service was outstandingly good and attentive, great coffee and beautiful shop to browse in. I went on 2 excursions while in Tofino and was lucky enough to have brilliant sunshine on both trips. The Vargas Island with Candace was fun educational and a perfect pace for moderate paddlers. The day in the sound, was a good work out, lots of distance and we saw 3 Orcas, 1 being a huge bull!!! very special right from our boats. !!! The place has great history, the owner is there, the support staff are jut so darn sweet and charming, truly a memorable experience, thank you I'll be back next summer!

“Super good fun!”

Firstly, a comment on their great cutomer service..!, I booked a short trip a day in advance hoping some other folks would sign on too, but when I showed up for the scheduled departure, no one else was signed up. So he proceeded to help me find a trip.... with one of the other companies in town..! Lucky for me, while this great guy was making phone calls for me, a couple wandered into the store and signed up for the scheduled trip, so it was on!

Fifeteen minutes later, our guide showed us the planned route, which was determined by time frame, experience, tide and weather. So 2.5 hours, beginners, slack tide turning to high, and a lovely sunny and calm afternoon, and the circumnavigation of Stubbs Island was planned.

She outfitted us all with needed gear - water shoes, pfd's, spray skirts, paddles, and demonstrated and had us practice some safety procedures. All equipment was in good order and properly fitted. Then we were off, heading out of the harbour toward the south side of Stubbs.

What a great way to experience the the water! We saw a family of river otters right off, then a kelp bed full of crabs. Next we headed across the channel to Stubbs and shot through a gap in the rocky shore with the waves.

This section of the trip gave us a little taste of the open sea, with rollers rising and falling beneath us. We paddled on and it was lovely to watch the waves pass below us.

We rounded the corner and then the waves and tide were to our backs, and we drifted in the sunshine, gazing at the sandy bottom about 10 feet below us. We drifted this way a while, and then too soon it was time to head back to the dock.
