The 20 minute walk is worth it! This is a very natural hot springs; just a waterfall of very hot water pouring over rocks, forming pools down to the sea. The water is almost too hot to stand under but lovely when you get used to it. Pick you time; not so much fun when it gets really busy. However, there is a perfect B&B (InnChanter) which is moored in the cove if you want your own private turn in the springs late evening or early morning; there is also a camp site. Find the place near the sea where you can be half warm and half cold! Take water shoes the rocks are rough and slippery.

It is about 90 minutes boat from Tolfino. We joined the Hot Spring Cove tour organized by Adventure Tolfino. After we were dropped off at the pier, it was a 2km walk from the pier to the hot spring. The trail is made of boardwalk with stairs. it took us 30 min one way.

There is limited changing rooms at the hot spring.

The hot spring water flows downhill through a rocky stream into the ocean. There are several pools between the source and the ocean with decreasing temperatures.

The hot water is very hot at the top so be careful. In addition, the rocks can be slippy with sharp angles. Therefore, wearing shoes are a good idea!!

Make sure you have enough time to walk back to the pier!

During the 90 minute boat cruise, we saw whales, seals, sea lions, sea otters, and bears. The boat cruise was equally entertaining.

One can also take a seaplane to the hot spring cove.

The entrance fee is $3 per people, it is included in our boat tour.

Nice boat ride to it, we saw sea lions and sea otters, a grey whale and bald eagles. Nice walk to the falls through the forest. The not springs themselves are not really spectacular but nice to bath in. The hot springs are totally natural so. to for those unsure of their footing. They are also not very big so can't accommodate loads of people. But then the tour operators stagger their arrival times to try and avoid overcrowwding.

Taking a boat to get there offers a decent cruise along the outside and/or inside passage, where you will see the beauty of Vancouver Island's coast line. We saw whale and sea otter, eagles and a plethora of other sea life. The walk through the rain forest to the hot springs is another treat, in and of itself. I love the lush beauty of the forest. And then there are the hot springs. Rugged, remote, beautiful, and hot. Yes, there are (too many) people, but they're travellers mostly, and interesting conversations can be had while relaxing in the water. Don't forget to notice the wonderful clean air, as you breathe it all in!

After a 1,5 hour boatdrive to the place – on which we saw a blackbear, many sealions and seaotters – we had a easy one-hour-walk to the cove. It was quite crowded, but we liked it anyway because it is so special to take a bath in the nice warm springs! We recommend the trip if you like walking in nature and taking a hot bath.
